Test passed ✅ The follow-up order of 150 additional insert bearings proves that the switch from metallic bearings to our lucbration free H3-material was the right decision! The maintenance technician at Chimay Brewery said: “With the igubal H3 bearings, we have been able to solve the most important problem on our conveyor systems and significantly extend the service life of our equipment”. The testing phase on the production conveyors began in September 2022, and soon all bearing points at Chimay will be equipped with our H3 insert bearings. After two years, these showed only minimal wear, even at speeds of up to 200 rpm, which corresponds to a production rate of 55,000 bottles per hour. 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐬 For the 18th and penultimate stage in Germany, we were once again travelling with the igus:bike in Münsterland🚲. Here we first visited our customer Scheffer Krantechnik GmbH in Sassenberg. Scheffer is a leading supplier of crane technology that uses energy chains from igus in its cranes. Mostly completely assembled as readychain or sometimes as roller chains for longer travel distances. After a warm welcome at Scheffer, we were given some insights into the company and its products😊. In return, the Scheffer employees took the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the igus:bike and test ride it💪. After the customer visit, we set off for the tour from Sassenberg to Münster. With a fresh 5 degrees, but good weather and sunshine, this time two colleagues, Birgit Huhse and Daniel Quick, set off on the igus:bike. After 33 km, our team reached the cycling city of Münster and our destination in the old town, St Paul's Cathedral⛪. For the last stop in Germany we traveled up north. Since the idea of the igus:bike was born “by the sea“ 🌊 by our CEO Frank Blase, we figured we should also end the tour at the sea. That's why we make a final trip to East Frisia. More precisely, Greetsiel, a village located directly on the Leybucht, a small bay on the East Frisian west coast. After a nice breakfast and warm coffee we made our way to the centre of Greetsiel to start the last stage of our bike tour here in Germany. Our route took us along the Wadden see, through green meadows and passed the Pilsum lighthouse. Fun fact: It is one of East Frisia's most famous landmarks, mainly because of its appearance in the film “Otto - Der Außerfriesische” by Otto Waalkes, a German comedian and actor and also East Frisia’s most famous person. Last stop on the way was the lookout at Greetsieler port. The end of our tour could not have been better - back to the roots of the igus:bike, which was made from old, recycled fishing nets😉. Now it’s time for us, to say goodbye to the igus:bike which on it’s way to the next stop: Singapore.
