Founders' Update #27: Das Fleisch der Zukunft – ohne eine Milliarde tote, lebensfrohe Rinder, dafür aber mit frischen 3 Millionen € - Innocent Meat . 🐮 320 Millionen Tonnen Fleisch, pro Jahr - diese Zahl können wir uns auch mit sehr viel weniger Nullen kaum mehr richtig vorstellen. So groß ist der weltweite, jährliche Bedarf an reinem Fleisch. Trotz Ressourcenknappheit und Klimawandel wächst die Nachfrage nach Fleisch weltweit stark an. Man muss kein Statistiker sein, um die Limits am schnell nahenden Horizont zu erkennen: Beim aktuell ebenso starken Bevölkerungswachstum der Erde ist irgendwann Schluss. 💡 Und so benötigt es innovative Lösungen (aus Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), die eine nachhaltige Veränderung bewirken. Das Rostocker StartUp Innocent Meat entwickelt Verfahren, um echtes Fleisch künstlich im Bioreaktor zu züchten und konnte dafür vor kurzem rund 3 Millionen € einsammeln. Nachhaltig und klimaschonend. Das neunköpfige Team macht dabei große Fortschritte und hat die reine Laborphase abgeschlossen.
