✨ Highlights from ISES at #COP29 ✨ This year, we were once again delighted to be represented at #COP29 with several Board Members. Besides our ISES information booth, highlights included three on-site sessions with ISES Board members! 🎉 Board Member Gurleen Kaur, Ph.D. Kaur was a speaker at the Call to Action to Youth as Ambassadors of Change organized by the International Solar Alliance, and #YoungISES was very proud to announce the #YoungISESDeclaration2024, which was presented on-site at #COP29. Board Members Chiel Boonstra and Andreas Häberle discussed the potential of the solar thermal heating and cooling sector within the broader context of the global energy transition during the session "Unlocking the Power of the Sun: Scaling Solar Thermal Heating and Cooling for Energy Transition." Another highlight of #COP29 was the Women in Solar session, where our ISES members Christine Lins and Gurleen Kaur, Ph.D. discussed the critical and essential role of women in the global energy transition by showcasing successful initiatives and best practices that promote gender equity in energy. Thank you to all the Board Members for your valuable contributions. We look forward to the next #COP! ☀️

While deliberations at #COP29 are ongoing, #YoungISES is proud to announce the #YoungISESDeclaration2024 which is being presented on-site at #COP29. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the drafting of this declaration during #EuroSun2024 in Cyprus and to our ISES Board members Aline Kirsten, Gurleen Kaur, Ph.D. and Francisco Beltran. "We pledge to do our part to engage with youth activists in leading the change for renewable energy solutions. We aim to strengthen international cooperation and collaboration amongst young scientists, transcending geographical, political, and economic boundaries to help to develop global solutions. We call for COP 29 to have a youth presidency, encouraging young ISES and other youth organizations to actively engage and contribute to the climate agenda. Let young voices be central in driving the global energy transformation."
