Together with our partner PAPERFAST SRL, three colleagues from our copy paper department represented us at 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗕𝘂𝘆𝗲𝗿 2024 in Bologna from 27 to 29 November. The event offered excellent opportunities to connect with international experts in office supplies and to learn about latest trends and developments. At our shared booth, our team and 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 were excited to showcase the projects and innovations we are working on 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

Last week, our colleagues Martin Bredemeier-Prang and Kim Alina Schöllhorn had the opportunity to visit our agents in 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗰𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿. The focus of their visit was to strengthen our business relationships with existing customers and explore opportunities for future partnerships. Visits to local paper converters and distributors in Bogotá and Quito provided valuable insights into their product requirements and production processes - an essential step toward 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀.   We are continually striving to expand and develop our network in these markets. Our colleagues climbed again the Rocky Mountains in British Columbia to find some good quality mountain Douglas fir. We are regularly visiting our partners in Canada to review the wood we are importing to Europe. You can find Douglas fir in Europe, but the mountain Douglas fir from Canada is known for its unique properties, shaped by its growth in higher elevations and colder, drier climates. The slow growth rate of mountain Douglas fir results in tighter growth rings, making the wood strong and stable. From 28 to 30 October, our colleagues Daniel von Stamm and Daniel Breustedt attended the Fastmarkets Forest Products North America Conference and the International Containerboard Conference 2024 in Chicago. These concurrent events brought together more than 400 industry representatives and provided invaluable insights into the current state and future of the forest products and packaging markets. The International Softwood Conference in Taormina, Italy, this week brought key industry leaders, traders and experts from around the globe together to discuss market trends, challenges, and opportunities in the softwood timber sector. For the first time, India was represented at the ISC. Ms. Prachi Kagzi, director MEGAMET, gave a presentation about the Indian softwood market. We follow the development in India with great interest especially as we are active in the region through our local sales manager Ravi Kumar Kaushik. Even though the current overall market situation is seen as challenging, there is cautious optimism among the conference participants for the year 2025. Today, several training sessions on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ChatGPT were held in our company’s conference room. The event provided participants with valuable insights into AI technologies and how ChatGPT can be applied to improve our workflows. Through hands-on activities and engaging discussions, attendees gained a deeper understanding of these innovative tools. The training was well-received, demonstrating a strong interest in integrating AI into our organization. This text was, of course, generated by AI.
