Throwback Thursday or the question: Körber machinery on German television? The full story behind the pictures. 👇 In the early 1960s, the German television lottery faced a significant challenge: managing the vast number of lottery tickets that had to be manually rolled and placed into the drawing drum by over 100 people. The process was time-consuming, costly, and prone to errors. Enter Kurt A. Körber and his team, who saw an opportunity to apply their technical expertise to solve the problem. Here’s what they did: 💡 The new drum was based on modified Körber machinery. It included an innovative air circulation system, eliminating the need for manual rolling of the tickets. 💡 The system ensured fair and efficient drawing, meeting all customers' requirements for compliance standards. 💡 With a capacity to handle up to 1.7 million tickets simultaneously, the machine set new standards for large-scale lottery draws. Debuting live on German television on 29 October 1961 Körber's lottery drum became a frequent feature on millions of screens for many years, showcasing our team’s entrepreneurial thinking and innovative spirit.
