Calling all people in search of #MeaningfulConversations!

Info

kontakt kollektiv came together in July 2020, in the midst of our global pandemic. A desire to approach life more meaningfully and consciously manifested itself during this time. We aim to host events to create safe inclusive spaces to share, connect and be vulnerable with each other. As we humans express ourselves through different forms and mediums, the events will take different approaches though panel talks, discussions, music, art, music, performance, etc. Our paths met in Hamburg, Germany and we quickly bonded and realised we were all seeking something very similar: to interact purposefully and wholeheartedly. We all bring different but complementary skill-sets and perspectives which will enable us to formulate our community events.

Impact grows where connections thrive. At the Social Entrepreneurship City Hamburg Forum at Körber Start-Hub, one thing stood out—the power of meaningful conversations. Our founder Natalia Kinga talked with: 🔹 Founders from Germany and abroad making our lives, businesses, and spaces healthier and more accessible 🔹 Established entrepreneurs looking for new ways forward 🔹 Corporate employees at Beiersdorf tackling loneliness 🔹 Impact professionals supporting data-driven social change 🔹 Policymakers at Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank (IFB Hamburg) looking for ways to strengthen Hamburg’s social innovation landscape. The missing link? Stronger bridges between these worlds. More intentional spaces where entrepreneurs, funders, and institutions truly connect—where ideas turn into action. When people feel heard, understood, and supported, collaboration follows. So, let’s build those bridges. Great work is happening in Hamburg. Let’s spotlight inspiring social enterprises together. The future is bright if we work together. #ConnectionMatters #SocialEntrepreneurship #Collaboration #Hamburg

Sometimes, we get too focused on tasks and forget to connect with people. It’s about moving beyond small talk and making space for more authentic conversations. Whether it’s asking 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 or creating a 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 for people to open up, we can all make an effort to connect more. 🤝 ❓𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺?  Let us know in the comments! ⬇️ #WorkplaceConnection #MeaningfulConnections #NewWork #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeEngagement #ConnectionAtWork

💖𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱𝗮𝘆! 💖 Love isn’t just about romantic relationships – it’s about making someone 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯, 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨. So, today spread good energy – through small but meaningful actions that bring us together and brighten the day. 🌈 A smile, a kind word, or a moment of appreciation – these are the connections that truly matter. 🌟 Here's how: 1️⃣ 𝗦𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 as you pass them on the street. A little kindness can go a long way. 😊 2️⃣ 𝗦𝗮𝘆 “𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼” 𝗼𝗿 “𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴” to someone you see often but haven’t yet connected with – the cashier, the receptionist, or a colleague you haven’t spoken to yet. 🌍 3️⃣ 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀:Take a moment to chat with someone you see regularly but never talk to. Ask them how their day is going – it’s a simple way to build a meaningful connection. 🙌 4️⃣ 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 – take a minute to let them know you appreciate them and their support. 💖 5️⃣ 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to someone in your life – a colleague, friend, or family member. A little acknowledgment can brighten their day. 📝 6️⃣ 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 - reflect on what makes you unique, focusing on your inner qualities – your resilience, character, and passion. 💫 Remember, 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 is about making others feel like they 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 and are 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦. Let’s connect, celebrate, and spread those good vibes everywhere we go today. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘆.🌟💕 #MeaningfulConnections #HumanConnection #ValentinesDay

"𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙖𝙭𝙞 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙮𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪?" 🤯 — I asked my friend, half annoyed, as we stood in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, late and stressed. Taxis were everywhere—empty ones, too!—so what was the problem? At that point, I’d been living in Malaysia for over a year and knew the system. Sure, some drivers would try to overcharge you or refuse if your destination wasn’t “convenient,” but it wasn’t rocket science. So, I confidently marched up to a nearby taxi, negotiated, and got us a ride. 🚕 “See? Easy,” I said, launching into a mini TED Talk 🗣️ about navigating local taxis. It took me months 😳to realize the problem wasn’t about “how” he asked—it was about 𝘸𝘩𝘰 he was. You see, my friend had darker skin than me. And while we were both foreigners, the way people treated him was... different. At first, I didn’t get it. When he mentioned racism, I brushed it off. “Come on, it’s 21st century. Who even thinks about skin color anymore?” I thought he was exaggerating or just bad at intercultural communication. 𝘏𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨. But then I started noticing 👀 things. Like how taxis ignored him but stopped for me. Or how at the bank people were outright disrespectful. Or when promised collaborations fell through when investors met him in person. It hit me like a slap in the face:  𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚. I didn’t choose to have lighter skin or to be treated better because of it. But I also couldn’t deny that, for me, things were easier. And that’s the thing about privilege—it’s 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 👻 when you’re benefiting from it. You just think the world works this way for 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦. It’s a strange thing to realize. Here I was, in Malaysia, clearly getting “white privilege” treatment. But a few years earlier, working in the UK before university, I felt like a second-class citizen myself. Same person, different context, wildly different experiences. Privilege is sneaky🕵️♂️. It’s not just about being rich or powerful; it’s all the subtle stuff. Like how much harder someone else has to work to get the same opportunities—or how they’re judged before they even say a word. So here’s a thought: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙫𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙙? 🤔 It’s not about feeling guilty; it’s about  𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. Once you see it 👀, you can’t unsee it—and maybe, just maybe, you’ll help make things a little fairer for someone else. 🤞 Photo credit: Ashish Lunawat #PrivilegeAwareness #UnconsciousBias #LeadershipLessons
