Thrilled to support Meshcapade on their journey! 🚀 Exciting to see MoCapade 3.0 push the boundaries of markerless motion capture. Can’t wait for what’s next! Kudos to the whole Meshcapade Team! 👏
I’ve been counting down the days to share this amazing update with you all! 🔥 Meshcapade's latest and greatest version of MoCapade is live: best-in-class markerless motion capture. ⚡ This is a culmination of decades of work on accurate 3D motion from single video, and there's still SO much more to come! We launched MoCapade 1.0, our first ever markerless motion from video product, in March '24 at Game Developers Conference. This was a “first look” release: our proof of concept after years of development and our holy grail 🏆 in computer vision. Estimating 3D body shape and accurate motion from a single view is one of the longest researched problems in computer vision and one of the most sought after. Behind the scenes, there is a decades long history of science publications and research from many key members of Meshcapade that went into the development of our product. But in spite of all this history, even we stand on the shoulders of giants who've moved mountains within the field of computer vision, and without whom the progress we've made today would not have been possible. Since GDC 2024, thanks to the valuable feedback from all of you, our amazing community, we've continued building and launching improvements throughout the year. We released MoCapade 2.0 in Aug 2024: our markerless motion capture solution to estimate the 3D human body shape, 3D motion and the 3D trajectory of the camera, all from a single view. And now we are unveiling our latest and greatest, MoCapade 3.0: 👯 multi-person markerless mocap with detailed hands 🖖 and gestures. We now also provide the 3D camera 📷 🤳 estimated by our computer vision models. With a new GLB export option, you can export the "scene", which includes the estimated 3D camera together with the 3D multi-person interactions in the scene. In addition to the GLB exports, we’re also releasing tools and tutorials to help import your motions directly into Unreal Engine, Fortnite and Roblox! Another very significant update with this release is the creation of the new #SMPL file format. SMPL, our parametric 3D body model, is the standard representation for 3D human shape & motion widely used across academia and industry. With the MoCapade 3.0 release, we are turning the SMPL model into the all new .SMPL file format! Last, but not the least, our whole team at Meshcapade has been immensely grateful for the support, encouragement and appreciation we have received over the years from you all. A big thanks to every one of our investors, our customers and the amazing community of creatives rooting for us ❤️ Stay tuned for a lot more coming soon! 👇 Link to my blog post in comments if you'd like to read more about this release!
