Es ist mittlerweile ein Jahr vergangen wo wir unseren elektrischen UTV M-TWO auf der EICMA zusammen mit Vitesco Technologies / Schaeffler vorgestellt haben. Und natürlich haben wir das Gerät ordentlich weiterentwickelt. Viele werden sich schon gefragt haben ob es das Projekt überhaupt noch gibt. Wir sagen ganz klar JA 😁 💪 ! Wir haben es lediglich aus strategischen Gründen etwas verlangsamen müssen. Da wir festgestellt haben, das die Investitionsbereitschaft in Europa für Hardware Produkte solcher Art nahezu nicht gegeben ist. Und somit finanzieren wir das M-TWO Projekt bis zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt einfach selber. Und glaubt mir, das ist leichter gesagt als getan in der heutigen Zeit. Startups und Mittelstand haben derzeit nicht viel zum lachen. The US electric bus market is expanding, with more cities adopting electric buses to reduce emissions and improve public transportation. However, US manufacturers are struggling to meet the increasing demand. Supply chain issues, production delays, and infrastructure gaps are significant challenges.

Los Angeles, known for its sprawling urban landscape and car dependency, is making strides towards zero-emission mobility. Electric buses play a key role in this transformation, especially in the development of zero-emission areas (ZEAs) that prioritize public transport, walking, and cycling. Since 2019, ITDP has been working with local officials to improve bus services and reduce air pollution in areas like North Broadway and Downtown LA. The need for better public transport is urgent—LA residents lose over 100 hours annually to traffic congestion, and many rely on buses due to limited access to cars. However, poor infrastructure has led to long delays and declining ridership. Initiatives like the Better Buses for LA coalition, which advocates for bus rapid transit (BRT), are set to change that by providing faster, safer, and more reliable transportation options. With the recent implementation of bus-only lanes and the NextGen Bus Plan overhaul, electric buses are helping the city move toward a more sustainable, inclusive, and efficient future. European manufacturers can significantly contribute to this push toward zero-emission transport, offering advanced technology and expertise in electric bus manufacturing. However, they face challenges such as the stringent UL certification required in the U.S. and the increasing demand for products labelled "Made in America."
