🎉✈️ Celebrating 30 years of Lufthansa Cargo! 🎉✈️ 30 years ago, on 30 November 1994, #LufthansaCargo was registered as a joint stock corporation, setting the stage for incredible growth and innovation over the last three decades. As we reflect on our journey, we're excited to take you on a #throwbackthursday… uhm #throwbacksaturday trip down memory lane, highlighting some of the most memorable moments from our history. 1994 - 2004: The early years saw the expansion of our cargo fleet from 737-300F and DC-8-73F to 747-200 freighters and MD-11F. The digitization of logistics processes started, and as the first cargo airline we introduced innovative products and solutions customized to your needs. We also made history with our first round-the-world flight in cooperation with Air New Zealand and the launch of the first global cargo alliance, WOW, together with SAS Cargo and Singapore Airlines Cargo. 2005 - 2014: This decade was all about modernization and expansion. We upgraded our entire freighter fleet, spun off Jettainer for more efficient logistics, and founded AeroLogic together with DHL Express to expand our long-haul capacities. Not to mention, we opened the Frankfurt Animal Lounge and the largest hub for temperature-sensitive freight in Europe, our Pharma Hub Frankfurt. In 2013, the carrier entered into a partnership with the “Aktion Deutschland Hilft e.V.” alliance to provide faster support in the event of a crisis. In the same year, the freighter fleet is modernized again – the first of five B777F joins the fleet with a big roll-in event. 2015 - 2024: Recent years have seen further digitization, expansion of services, and the modernization of our fleet and hubs. In 2020, the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic changed our world. We secured important supply chains and transported urgently needed vaccines and face masks. To do this, even passenger aircraft were temporarily converted into freighters – so-called “preighters”. In the fall, the world's first CO2 neutral freighter rotation takes place, in cooperation with DB Schenker. In 2021, the last MD-11 freighter leaves our fleet, which is then converted to an all-B777F fleet. In the following year, we add short- and medium-haul routes to the network with A321 freighters. This enables 13 new stations to be opened worldwide in 2023. In 2024 for the first time, A321 freighters are taking off from the Munich hub. In addition, we are reintroducing a trans-pacific flight to our schedule, connecting Vietnam directly with the USA for the first time. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we're excited to look ahead to the next 30 years of Lufthansa Cargo, embracing new opportunities, technologies, and sustainable practices as we continue to #EnablingGlobalBusiness.

👨✈️ From pilot to chocolatier: The sweet career of Andreas Mohrs 🍫 From flying high in the skies to crafting delectable chocolates, Andrea’s story is nothing short of inspiring. Next to a successful career as a pilot, Andreas Mohrs ventured into the world of chocolate, founding CHOCION - Finest Chocolate. His commitment to quality and ethical sourcing has made his chocolate a hit, with two successful shops in Munich. When the pandemic hit and flying came to a halt, Andreas fully embraced his Plan B and focused on his chocolate business, doubling his sales and expanding his product line. But Andreas didn't leave his aviation roots behind. He cleverly combined his two passions by flying as well as producing chocolate (also as aircraft) and supporting Cargo Human Care e.V., the human aid organization that became close to his heart while flying ot Kenya with founder Fokko Doyen. #LufthansaCargo has even added his chocolate to their range of customer gifts, enabling Andreas to donate €6,000 to #CargoHumanCare. Read the full inspiring story in our article. And, this Christmas, treat your loved ones to some of Andreas's delicious chocolates and make a difference with your purchase. #EnablingGlobalBusiness

Lufthansa Cargo and Maersk launch cooperation to support decarbonization of airfreight ✈️🌱 400 metric tonnes of SAF to be used in the remainder of 2024 #LufthansaCargo and A.P. Moller - Maersk (Maersk) have signed an agreement to promote the decarbonization of airfreight through the use of #SustainableAviationFuel (SAF). We will use 400 metric tonnes of #SAF on behalf of Maersk in the remainder of 2024, which is an important contribution in the year-end business with traditionally high cargo volumes. The expected reduction of CO2 emissions corresponds to at least 1,200 metric tonnes. “Cutting greenhouse gas emissions from airfreight is one of the most challenging tasks within the decarbonization of global logistics and supply chains. This is why we are excited to partner with Lufthansa Cargo in this important task,” says Morten Bo Christiansen, Head of Energy Transition at A.P. Moller - Maersk. As one of the globally largest logistics companies, Maersk aims to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 across all modes of transport as well as other business areas like warehousing and container terminals. “The uptake and availability of SAF in the aviation industry is still limited. Our agreement with Lufthansa Cargo enables Maersk to contribute to an increase in the uptake.” “SAF is a key technological enabler for more sustainable flying and essential for the energy transition in aviation,” says our CEO Ashwin Bhat. “With Maersk we are jointly making a valuable contribution with the new agreement. At the same time, more sustainable flying also requires major efforts for a modern fleet and increased efficiency in flight operations. It is only through this interplay that change can be achieved sustainably.” With our Boeing 777 freighter fleet, we continue to rely on the most modern and efficient aircraft in its class. #EnablingGlobalBusiness #Together4Sustainability

This fertile land, transformed into a green oasis by the world’s longest river, boasts agricultural excellence, producing crops like sweet potatoes, strawberries, and beans with exceptional quality and efficiency. But it’s not just about yield; it’s about making every step greener. #LufthansaCargo enables Egypt’s agriculture sector by connecting these remarkable harvests to global markets while focusing on #sustainability. Farms like ICAPP, Green Egypt, and Belco employ cutting-edge techniques: solar-powered energy, biological pest control, and water-reducing technics that redefine farming. Together with partners like Venus International Transport, we are setting new standards in sustainable airfreight, enabling Egypt’s agricultural treasures to thrive in global markets. Collaboration at its best: Successful shipment of Mpox vaccines to Kinshasa Our team in Brussels is thrilled to have been part of the successful uplift of a critical shipment of 100,000 mpox vaccines to Kinshasa on SN357 on November 14, a mission made possible through seamless collaboration with key stakeholders. This milestone underscores our commitment to global health and our role in facilitating critical humanitarian efforts. This shipment was the result of a joint effort involving the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid, the German Embassy in Brussels, Brussels Airport, Swissport and World Courier.
