Right ahead of this year’s #WebSummit in Lisbon, we gathered with our Mercedes-Benz.io team to look ahead to the future of digital at #MercedesBenz. Despite being one of the oldest cities in Europe, Lisbon’s also renowned for its spirit of exploration and discovery. Making it the ideal place to meet up with colleagues from our “tribe” of digital enthusiasts to take a deep dive into how we’ll continue to evolve the digital experience for our customers.    If you’ve ever visited our online store or used our car configurator, then you’ve already benefited from the work of our “MB.ioneers”. Responsible for the development of important customer-facing digital touchpoints for more than 60 markets around the globe, Mercedes-Benz.io is a key player in our digital transformation. During our event, we looked at the current challenges facing us in building and refining the tech solutions for marketing, sales and customer service. Of special interest: how we’re balancing the integration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) alongside proprietary software in our vehicles and digital services.      What really stood out for me was the huge enthusiasm for giving our customers the best digital experience at every step of the way – from the fun of configuring their dream Mercedes through to making it easy and comfortable to book service appointments.
