🌍 New Research Published in NDT.net! 🚀 In this study, we explored the impact of snowmelt-induced landslides on the "Villa Ilii" Viaduct along the A24 highway in Central Italy. With climate change intensifying natural hazards, our research highlights the integration of Differential Interferometry SAR (DInSAR) techniques and AI-driven Gradient Boosting Machines (GBMs) to assess deformation risks and enhance landslide hazard prediction. 🔍 Key Highlights: Detected deformation rates of up to +2.5 cm/year, emphasizing critical structural risks. Identified strong correlations between snowmelt dynamics and ground deformation, especially during late spring and summer. Achieved an 87% accuracy in landslide pattern recognition using GBM models, showcasing the power of combining remote sensing and machine learning. This work provides a robust framework for monitoring geohazards and designing resilient infrastructure, contributing to proactive disaster management strategies.
