Startup Germany at Web Summit 🚀 As always, it was far too much but in the end too short and too little time to talk to everyone, see everything and take it all in. We look back on a crazy and more than successful week with the Digital Hub Initiative – Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz with: 🫵 80 German start-ups were on site with us and made the German Park the most visited booth at the Web Summit. 🍸 Kick-off evening with the All Female Founders Delegation of Robert Habeck, curated and hosted by the great Sebastian Borek ⛪ Our Startup Germany Night was fully booked and I had more interesting conversations there than at any other event 🚀 10 Digital Hubs on site Digital Hub Karlsruhe | EDIH-AICS – Digital Hub Logistics & Commerce, TechQuartier, SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator, InsurLab Germany e.V., MediaTech Hub Potsdam, ZOLLHOF – Tech Incubator, Medical Valley EMN e. V., MotionLab.Berlin, digihub - Digital Innovation Hub Düsseldorf/Rheinland GmbH, InsurTech Hub Munich 🛋️ The German Appartment which we co-operated with fischerAppelt. Particularly noteworthy is the great panel with Anne Christin Braun, Bernhard Fischer-Appelt, Christian Bauer, Manuela Kasper-Claridge 🙏 A Web Summit that shows that we are welcome and that Germany is welcome to be a partner! Thanks to the whole team behind this great event and everyone who supported us so well in the preparation Cathal Walsh – See you next year again!! And what else I would like to share. I had several conversations about the role of German startup topics in Europe and the world, how we position ourselves and how we can further promote our ecosystems to bring this great innovation from our country to the streets: ⚡ Our innovations are working. The German idea of long-term development and well thought-out market entry is paying off. Marketing is great, branding is super but good innovation is priceless! 💡 Do we need one great vision for Germany? I don't think so. I heard many visions and many ambitious goals and many projects. And that is precisely the point. Perhaps we don't need this one vision as many people say. We have enough energy to have many individual visions and to move them forward – we just need to coordinate them well and allow them to coexist. And to be honest, I would even find it very sad and inefficient if we only had one big vision in Germany. 💥 Ecosystem is everything and ecosystems must be open and diverse! We need constant exchange, constant change and must challenge ourselves openly in order to continue to develop together. An ecosystem simply must not stand still and we manage this very well, whether it is through unwanted challenges such as regulations that drive us to rethink or the open confrontation with crises and threats.
