🎉 Congratulations, Vincent Müller! 🎉 Vincent Müller has been awarded the 2024 Innovation Award by the Forschungsvereinigung Neue Materialien e.V. for his outstanding bachelor’s thesis, completed at Neue Materialien Bayreuth GmbH in collaboration with the Chair of Engineering Design and CAD, Universität Bayreuth. 🏆 Supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Tremmel, Dr.-Ing. Tobias Rosnitschek (both Universität Bayreuth), and Dr.-Ing. Dehua Chen (NMB), the aspiring materials scientist tackled the highly relevant question of whether and how hard metals can be processed using industrial 3D printing. The results, developed in close collaboration with industry partners Klaus Trott/GMTech and Peter Würtele, provide valuable insights for metal-based additive manufacturing. This work was conducted as part of the project KK5027509KL2, funded by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz through the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (#ZIM). We also congratulate the other award recipients, who impressed the jury with their innovative research contributions: ⭐ Ying Zheng (Master’s thesis on low-pressure cold gas spraying) ⭐ Niklas Saffenreuther (Master’s thesis on machine learning for SLS applications) ⭐ Simon Krüger (Bachelor’s thesis on sustainability in foam pre-expansion technology) A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in these successful projects, and congratulations once again to all award winners! 👏 #MaterialsScience #SupportingYoungTalent #AdditiveManufacturing #3DPrinting #NMB Hans Rausch Holger Ruckdaeschel Marcus Seitz Dr.-Ing. Experience technology - with "sprungbrett hop-on hop-off" at the #NMB! 🚀 Last week it was time: As part of sprungbrett's hop-on-hop-off initiative, we welcomed three curious students from a regional high school to our company each day. The project, organized by Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw-Gruppe), enables young people to get a taste of five different companies and professional fields within a week. At our company, everything revolved around the fascinating world of materials technology. Our power women Lea Diewitz and Natalja Agarkov guided the students through the exciting program with great commitment: 🔍 Making metallographic sections of coins and microscopy 💶 Rolling money 🔬 Deduction tests on copper coatings on plastic substrates In addition to the practical activities, the young people learned who we are, what we do and why our work is so important for the industry. At the end of each day, there was a feedback session where we could sense not only the enthusiasm of the participants, but also their curiosity and drive to discover new things. We would like to thank Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw-Gruppe) and the sprungbrett hop-on hop-off initiative for the great organization - and we look forward to bringing materials technology to life in the future! 💡✨ #NMB #bbw #Internship #sprungbrett #HopOnHopOff #FutureTalent #DiscoverTechnology #CareerOrientation #ShapingTheFuture #PassionForTechnology #Teamwork #IndustryInsights Holger Ruckdaeschel Arina Bifano
