In this edition of our "What We Do" series, we spotlight the NX Logistics Research Institute and Consulting, a key player in the NX Group specializing in logistics and supply chain solutions. Founded in 1961, they excel in research, planning, and consultation, influencing policy and system proposals. One of their notable projects includes optimizing forklift utilization and reducing CO2 emissions for a heavy machinery manufacturer. They also support mid-term management planning for a logistics subsidiary and have implemented automation with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for a medical device manufacturer. Looking ahead, they plan to launch a digital workforce management solution in 2025. They are transitioning from a human resource-dependent model to a digital value delivery model, expanding its Digital Solutions business. Their goal is to be a knowledge bank for logistics, sustainability, and risk management, boosting the NX Group's competitiveness and supporting sustainable growth. On February 14, #NXGroup issued its earnings announcement for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024. Our consolidated results for the fiscal year ending December 2024 showed an increase in revenue due to the consolidation of cargo-partners, among other factors. However, operating profit and other profits declined due to higher labor costs and other expenses. Moreover, excluding the impact of one-time factors from the previous year, operating profit for the standalone fourth quarter increased, indicating a continued recovery in profitability. Regarding our forecast for fiscal 2025, although the business environment remains uncertain, we expect a continuing recovery in both domestic and international logistics demand, and we anticipate increases in revenue and profit compared to the previous year. In addition, we announced a review of our initiatives aimed at enhancing corporate value, in pursuit of achieving the goals set in our Business Plan 2028. We are excited to introduce NX Agrigrow, a member of the NX Group, operating a state-of-the-art plant factory in Yamanashi Prefecture. As part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement, NX Agrigrow participated in a local revitalization project in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, for the second consecutive year. In October and November 2024, we welcomed 16 local high school students for company tours and hands-on work experiences. The students engaged in various agricultural activities, including sowing seeds, transplanting seedlings, and weighing and packaging harvested vegetables. The feedback from the students was very positive. Here are some of their comments:  ー "I learned that delicious vegetables are grown with water from the Southern Alps and are well-received by consumers nationwide." ー "I discovered the benefits of facility horticulture, which allows for stable shipments regardless of weather conditions." NX Agrigrow is dedicated to showcasing the appeal of agriculture to local youth and contributing to the development of future agricultural professionals.
