Reflecting on RedCabin Rail Interiors Summit 2024 in Essen and Krefeld 🚆 The RedCabin Rail Interiors Summit 2024 brought together experts from across the rail industry, each committed to advancing the future of rail. This year, N+P Innovation Design participated in two key discussions, each delving into essential aspects of innovation and collaboration. Our CEO, Christiane Bausback, moderated a panel on "The Innovation Dilemma: Bridging the Gap Between Potential and Feasibility". The discussion centered on turning ambitious design concepts into practical, real-world solutions that address safety regulations, cost efficiency, and sustainability. Emphasis was placed on the need for cross-sector collaboration to align designers, operators, and suppliers toward mobility solutions that are fit for the future. Thank you to Stefan Wilhelm from LANTAL Textiles, Jens Cuylen from Siemens Mobility, Ruben Bake from SEKISUI KYDEX and Kristin Pflug from ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG for your insightful input. In a separate discussion, Chris joined Kirsty Dias, Managing Director of PriestmanGoode, to explore why the future of rail design is collaborative. Together, they reflected on how the industry has shifted from function-focused to user-centric design. The session concluded with a lively exchange with the audience, highlighting the potential for rail interiors to offer either luxury experiences or customizable, flexible spaces. Technologies like augmented and virtual reality were discussed as exciting pathways for creating unique, adaptable passenger environments in the future. Further Summit highlights included: 🏆 Winning the Rail Interiors Concept of the Year Award for our AT-Flex: Visions for the Future collaboration with Hitachi, underscoring our commitment to redefining passenger experiences. 🏢 A workshop at Siemens Mobility’s Krefeld facility, where Chris and Siemens’ Tom Kutscher, VP Sales and Bids Highspeed and Intercity, led a workshop on balancing competing priorities in rail design. At N+P, we’re eager to bring these insights into our future projects, shaping rail interiors that deliver real value to passengers. #RailDesign #Innovation #RedCabin2024

How can we redefine the daily commute? At N+P Innovation Design, we are always pushing the boundaries of design to improve the future of mobility. During this year’s InnoTrans, our CEO Christiane Bausback and Sho Nozue, Design Lead at Hitachi, took the stage at the International Design Center Berlin (IDZ) to unveil cutting-edge innovations for revolutionizing commuter trains. Together, we introduced a modular toolkit designed to address commuters' diverse needs. Rather than relying on static personas, we designed with user journeys, which capture real behaviors, offering deeper insights and enabling solutions that are more responsive to passengers’ needs. Christiane Bausback highlighted the importance of seating, stating that sometimes it’s better to reduce the number of seats in favor of creating more space or integrating useful elements into the interior design. Examples include enclosed cabins that could be reserved as part of a ticket, interactive windows, and high-contrast color schemes to support elderly passengers. Are you curious about the future of commuting? Don’t miss watching the full presentation and discover how these innovations are set to transform the way we travel every day. The N+P Innovation Design team spent an exciting few days at InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin! 🚆✨ We explored the latest innovations in public mobility, from cutting-edge interiors to sleek, modern exteriors. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with friends and form new partnerships, all aligned with our shared vision of shaping the future of mobility. Over the course of the week, we gathered three key takeaways: 1. Enabling Multimodal Journeys: Seamless transitions are crucial. Users want frictionless movement from A to B, which means reducing barriers between transport modes and successfully integrating and enabling micro-mobility options. 2. Modularity and Flexibility by Design: There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Designing flexible, multi-use spaces and modular structures helps meet the evolving needs of passengers and operators alike, ensuring transport solutions are fit for purpose. 3. Closer to the People: At the heart of mobility are the people — passengers and staff. Prioritizing accessibility and comfort through universal design principles is key to creating more inclusive and meaningful experiences for everyone. There’s a lot of work to be done and we’re excited to apply these insights to keep pushing the boundaries of public mobility. Full speed ahead to new horizons! 🚄🌍 #InnoTrans2024 #TransportDesign #RailInnovation
