OCCAR-EA Director signs General Security Agreement with Republic of Slovakia   Bonn/Germany, 11 February 2025 - OCCAR-EA Director, Mr. Joachim Sucker, signed the General Security Agreement (GSA) with the Republic of Slovakia at the OCCAR premises in Bonn, Germany. This event was attended by Mr. René Baran, Director of the International Relations and Security Policy Division, representing the Slovakian National Security Authority.   The agreement is the result of successful negotiations between OCCAR-EA and the Slovakian National Security Authority, which commenced in April 2023. These negotiations were marked by a spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding, ultimately leading to the formalization of this agreement.   Although #Slovakia is not currently participating in any programme managed by OCCAR, the signing of this Security Agreement represents a substantial step forward in establishing and developing a collaborative relationship between OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) and the Republic of #Slovakia. This agreement lays the groundwork for future cooperation and underscores the commitment of both parties to enhancing security and international relations. #OCCAR #Slovakia #GeneralSecurityAgreement

#Essai 📋| 1er tir du missile AKERON Longue portée 🔴 La DGA a mené le 1er tir du missile AKERON Longue portée #AKERON_LP de MBDA dans le cadre du programme de missile air-sol tactique futur #MASTF mené avec l’OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) 🔵 #AKERON_LP est optimisé pour neutraliser les chars de combat, les infrastructures protégées, avec une capacité « tire et oublie », qui permet au missile d’atteindre sa cible en toute autonomie. Le tireur a également la possibilité de changer de cible, d’affiner le point d’impact ou même d’annuler le tir ✔️ L’essai a été réalisé au centre d’expertise et d’essais #DGA Essais de missiles, site Méditerranée. Il avait pour objectif de valider la séparation avec le lanceur, installé sur un portique spécifique, le comportement en vol, la tenue de la trajectoire demandée et l’atteinte de la portée objectif de 8km 🤝 Félicitations à l’ensemble des experts techniques qui ont pris part à ce premier tir #NotreExpertise - Ministère des Armées GICAT

OCCAR-EA Director welcomes German Chief of Cyber and Information Domain Service, German Armed Forces Bonn, Germany- 10 February 2025 - OCCAR-EA Director, Mr. Joachim Sucker, welcomed the Chief of Cyber and Information Domain Service of the German Armed Forces, Bundeswehr Wir. Dienen. Deutschland. Vice Admiral Dr. Thomas #Daum for informal consultations at the OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation)-EA Headquarters in Bonn. Mr. Sucker and Vice Admiral Daum discussed current cooperation between the German MoD and OCCAR and explored opportunities to strengthen and further develop the longstanding relationship. They also exchanged views on future needs and capabilities with regards to OCCAR’s abilitiy to jointly manage armaments programmes in an efficient and focused manner. Both emphasised their willingness to continue their close exchange in order to maintain good relations, keeping one another well informed to rapidly identify common interests. For OCCAR-EA, fostering close cooperation with industrial and national stakeholders alike is paramount to achieving its vision of becoming the first choice in Europe for complex, cooperative defence equipment programmes. #OCCAR #CYBER #CIR

OCCAR VBAE Programme Progress: Preliminary Architecture Established Paris/France February 2025 - The future light #armoured #vehicle -#VBAE - Véhicule Blindé d’Aide à Engagement is being developed within the framework of a cooperation agreement between #France and #Belgium for land capabilities. OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) has placed a predesign contract for the concept and preliminary architecture with a consortium comprising the French companies Arquus and KNDS France, and John John Cockerill Defence (JCD) from Belgium as a major subcontractor. On 17 January 2025, the VBAE preliminary architecture was successfully established. This sets the foundations for further optimisation studies addressing technical, operational and financial aspects that will be carried out throughout 2025. The optimisation studies will aim to demonstrate the added value of VBAE over existing vehicles in this segment and allow both France and Belgium to decide on the further detailed design. About the OCCAR VBAE Programme: For France, the VBAE is a potential replacement for the cavalry vehicle VBL in service in the Armée de Terre - the French Army since 1991. For Belgium, the VBAE represents a next step in the development of its motorised capability by reinforcing its control, recon and commandment capacity. The VBAE will have different versions with different levels of firepower and sensors, depending on the vehicle mission. First MAST-F Missile Firing Successfully Performed Paris/France 5 February 2025 - The first long range MAST-F missile (named AKERON LP) firing was successfully performed at the DGA - Direction générale de l'armement French Firing Center DGA Essais de Missile. A prototype missile, including a telemetry system to collect large amounts of data, was launched from a crane launcher towards the sea. This trial was completed to validate the overall behaviour of the missile for a typical trajectory and to validate the tube for future safe platform separation. This first firing exercise enabled to consolidate the aerodynamics and guidance of the missile. Additionally it confirmed the thrust of the booster, which provides the initial acceleration for separation and the thrust of the main propulsion system, which provides the energy to ensure a range of eight (8) km from the ground. Wing and fin opening systems to validate the safety barriers were also confirmed. This successful firing is a great achievement for the MAST-F Programme managed by OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) for #France. OCCAR and EASA Sign Administrative Arrangement #Bonn, Germany January 15, 2025 – The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), represented by Mr. Florian Guillermet - Executive Director, and the OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Co-operation) for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR), represented by Mr. Joachim Sucker OCCAR- EA Director, have signed an Administrative Arrangement (AA). This agreement follows successful negotiations between OCCAR-EA and EASA, which began in 2024 after the OCCAR Board of Supervisors approved the mandate which authorized OCCAR-EA to initiate discussions. Since last year, OCCAR has been working closely with EASA on the certification of the #Eurodrone engine as part of the MALE RPAS programme. This cooperation involves the exchange of classified information, which is now facilitated by this AA.
