Info
The sucessor to RTG-Aero in what concerns Space operations, Omnidea-RTG GmbH continues the work in Space chemical propulsion, for both hydrazine and cold gas systems. The company is involved in both component production and development but also in Manufacturing, Assembly, INtegration and Testing (MAIT) activities on complete spacecraft sub-systems such as AOCS. Its portfolio of ESA qualified products includes Ball Latch Valves, Oxygen isolation valves, fill and vent valves as well as transition joints for Space usage for multiple sizes and different material combinations (Ti-to SS and Al-to-SS). Near-qualification components include pressure regulators, hydrazine filters and fill and drain valves. The past record of the company in terms of spacecraft sub-system MAIT includes projects such as CHAMP (DLR/NASA), GRACE (ADS/DLR/NASA) SAR-Lupe (DLR/Bundeswehr/OHB), Sentinel-3 (TAS/ESA/Copernicus), Formosat-5 (Spacetech/NSPO) and EnMAP(DLR/OHB).

For the 1st time, ESA launched twice in a day and we were, again, part of that success as VEGA-C flew again, confirming the re-qualification of Z40 and re-affirming (following Ariane 6's inaugural flight) Europe's independent access to Space. At 2,3 tons, Sentinel 1-C is the heaviest payload launched on VEGA. Congratulations to our customers AVIO and European Space Agency - ESA and thank you for your trust in us. To our workers (present and past) thank you also for continuing to make us part of this story; this success is mostly yours! Continuing a tradition inaugurated by Avio on VV 24, by dedicating the launch to Mikhail Rudnykh, for yesterday's success, together with our mother company Omnidea, we honour another life dedicated to the pursuit of Space activities, that of Manuel Ferreira, whom we lost in July. Per Aspera ad Astra!

We're thrilled to announce the delivery of the first batch of our novel Manual Ball Valves to Thales Alenia Space for satellites based on the cutting-edge Space Inspire platform, developed with the support of Agência Espacial Portuguesa and European Space Agency - ESA ARTES program. This delivery marks a historic achievement - Omnidea's commencement of the first recurrent production of propulsion space hardware in Portugal. Designed for the Ammonia Cooling Fluid Loop, our valve, originally developed as a propulsion component, underwent rigorous acceptance testing, including functional assessments, leak tests, vibration, and thermal cycling, to ensure its readiness for space. With this milestone, Omnidea now boasts full production capabilities in Portugal, delivering Flight Model products to the global space market. By harnessing intragroup synergies, we've not only enhanced our product competitiveness but also contributed to the internationalisation of the Portuguese economy. #Omnidea #SpaceInnovation #ThalesAleniaSpace #SpaceInspire #ESA #NovacomII #SpaceHardware #PortugueseIndustry #InnovationInSpace

As part of the industrial supply chain of the last flight of VEGA, it is with a "tear in our eyes" that we watch it go into retirement. For us this adventure begun in 2015 at project level and in 2020 (VV_17) at flight level. We have by now delivered valves to Avio for over 12 flights and will continue to do so. At this moment i take the time to mention my colleagues Ricardo Penedo, Olivier Helbig, Tiago Briosa, Jonas Wirtz, Luís Moraes, Leslie Romero and now Niclas Terlunen and Filipe Vieira, without which this adventure would not have been possible. The future is now VEGA-C of which we are also part, with Sentinel 1-C still to be launched until the end of the year. Godspeed VEGA!
Vega successfully launched the #Sentinel2C Earth Observation Satellite, a dedicated mission for the European Commission Copernicus Program. #VV24 was the 22nd and last launch of Vega. The rocket had launched the first two satellites of the Sentinel-2 series: Sentinel-2A in 2015 on VV05 flight and Sentinel-2B in 2017 on VV09 flight. ➡Read the press release: https://shorturl.at/CMEWg We are proud to bid farewell to VEGA with this success and to begin a new journey with the next generation VEGA C launcher, which ensure even better performance and flexibility. The new launcher is capable of delivering up to 2,300 kg into Low Earth Orbit (LEO), a 60% increase compared to VEGA. ARIANESPACE European Space Agency - ESA

Omnidea Group's participation to SPACE PROPULSION, with teams from both Bremen and Lisbon, is the outcome of 2 years of work from a large group of colleagues, most of which could not be present. To them, our deep gratitude, for allowing Horácio Moreira, Elisabeth Firchau and Nuno Fernandes, to present at this important event. To Tiago Pardal and Ricardo Penedo our thank you note for their support and strong team work. Looking forward for 2026!

As Omnidea-RTG we are happy to have shared the initial design iteration with Omnidea and to support them throughout the qualification; we are even happier to confirm that the valves are now in production and will be flying on European Space Agency - ESA's Novacom-II soon. To Thales Alenia Space thank you for the trust deposited on our teams and supply chains. A thank you note also to Xavier Geneste and Christopher Hunter for your expertise without which these achievements would have been much harder.
The MBV project was the confluence of 3 entities (TAS-F, Omnidea group and ESA) that had been working together in the last 15 years. This project was now released to the world was only possible due the maximization of intragroup possibilities and capabilities that brought together. Thus the MBV.MPL project and product was born and this is the valve that embodies this process. Omnidea has the capacity to produce 18 to 24 MBV valves per year. #MBVvalves #Omnidea #OmnideaRTG #OmnideaGroup #ESA #Thales
