2024 was the biggest year of product launches in our company's history. But at Porsche, we don't rest on our laurels. It's important for us to make the current production processes as efficient as possible, while at the same time looking to the future of mobility and developing new technologies. Harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one way to stay one step ahead. Want some examples? At the Porsche factory in Leipzig, AI supervises and analyzes the painting process, ensuring that only the finest finishes leave the paint shop. At the same time, our colleagues at Porsche Engineering are not only using large language models (LLMs) in vehicle development to increase the efficiency in the development process, but are also using AI to improve the next generation of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). From the latest technologies to the newest member of our product range. In January we unveiled the most dynamic 911 Carrera S* ever, which we'd like to present to you in detail. But for us, it's not just about building cars. We also have a big heart for children and young adults – especially those in need of help. Together with Make-A-Wish International, we fulfilled several ill children's wishes in 2024. This edition of Porsche Spotlight highlights some of them – and also dares to look ahead to one of the highlight events coming your way in early February. So buckle up and read on!

Few sportscars are as iconic as the 911. But the history of Porsche is full of many more examples deserving of your attention, of course. From its unusual history to its intriguing design and enduring legacy, the charming Porsche 914 is certainly one to have a closer look at. “It’s not exactly a Porsche, not exactly a VW,” says Tom Steffora, proud owner of a Porsche 914. “But for me it turned out to be one of the most interesting things either company ever made. That’s what makes it so unique. The Porsche 914 doesn’t fit neatly into any box, and I love that. There’s a mystique to it that you don’t get with many production cars.” Here’s everything you need to know about the charming Porsche 914: https://lnkd.in/ebcBURxQ

Revisiting the Nürburgring lap record by Porsche that has stood the test of time On 29 June 2018, the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo set the record for the fastest lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife race circuit. Driven by top racing driver Timo Bernhard, the 919 lapped the famous 20.832 km-long (12.94 miles) circuit in Germany in 5 minutes 19.55 seconds at an average speed of 233.8 km/h (145.3 mph). And it’s a record that still stands to this day (as of January 2025). Timo Bernhard is no stranger to the Nordschleife. He’s won the Nürburgring 24 Hours five times. Timo has also twice taken overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, including with Porsche in 2017, and is a two-time FIA World Endurance Championship winner – in 2015 and 2017 – with the Porsche 919 Hybrid. The Evo version of the Porsche 919 Hybrid that Timo piloted to its record-breaking lap at the Nürburgring is based on the 24 Hours of Le Mans-winning racecar. However, it had been freed from some of the restrictions that govern its performance in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The car that Timo drove at the Nürburgring had the power of its hybrid powertrain increased to 1176 PS. Weighing only 849 kgs, and with active and enhanced aerodynamics, the car could produce 50 per cent more downforce than the WEC model. It recorded a top speed during the record-breaking lap of 369.4km/h (229.5mph). Dive into detail: https://lnkd.in/e6D5_CQb

The efficient range champ among all-wheel drive models Customers who wanted to combine the high efficiency of the entry-level Taycan with all-wheel drive have already found what they were looking for in the Cross Turismo. Now Porsche also offers such a variant as a sports sedan. In terms of performance, this new Taycan 4 corresponds to the Taycan: depending on whether the standard Performance battery or the optional Performance Battery Plus is fitted in the underbody, the result is an overboost output of up to 300 kW or 320 kW when using Launch Control. The range also depends on the type of battery. With a Performance battery, it is up to 559 kilometres. With the Performance Plus battery, the Taycan 4 can travel up to 643 km in the WLTP. This makes the two versions the undisputed range champs among the all-wheel drive models and puts them only about 35 kilometres below the values of the corresponding Taycan models. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and Porsche Classic enhance and restore unique sports cars with a combination of skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. As part of its Co-Creation strategy, the sports car manufacturer is reinterpreting its legendary Sonderwunsch programme from the late 1970s, which will enable it to design individualised, one-off cars – co-created by the customer and professionally produced by Porsche. This range of services encompasses the areas of Factory Commissioning for individual customer colour and material requests directly in production, as well as subsequent Factory Re-Commissioning, and Factory One-Off after vehicle delivery to the customer. Whereas Factory Re-Commissioning is all about individual colours and materials, the Factory One-Off service is a systematic new technical development. Depending on the vehicle’s age, the technical experts at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur or Porsche Classic take care of implementation.

2024 was the biggest year of product launches in our company's history. And it all started with a some sketches. Those drawings with pen and paper remain the most important starting point for brainstorming in the car design area. Almost simultaneously with the first drafts of the exterior, the interior is also sketched. From these many drawings, Vice President Style Porsche Michael Mauer, and Peter Varga and Markus Auerbach, who are responsible for the exterior and interior design, select the most interesting ones. For the next step, the design evaluation, we use physical models made of industrial plasticine – known in the business as clay. However, the iterative design process, which extends over many months, naturally also involves a digital representation of the models. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ebbDzq8X
