Cement production already accounts for 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions, a number that will only increase as the construction industry continues to grow. Using biochar as an additive in concrete reduces the amount of cement that needs to be produced without sacrificing concrete performance, and also provides a long-term solution for carbon removal. Denmark is at it again! After recently passing a groundbreaking law for the advancement of Biochar Carbon Removal (BCR), Denmark has now become the first country in the world to introduce a government BCR strategy. Denmark’s strategy focuses on using pyrolysis technology in agriculture, which will account for nearly half of the country’s total emissions by 2030. With their plan, Denmark aims to become climate neutral by 2045, with a 110% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050! https://lnkd.in/dHfgw6qs #Denmark #Biochar #BCR #CDR #SustainableAgriculture #CarbonRemoval #ClimateChange #NetZeroTechnology #Pyrolysis #GreenhouseGas #Emissions
Berlin, here we come! We’ll be attending the annual German Biochar Forum hosted by our friends at German Biochar e.V. (Fachverband Pflanzenkohle e.V.) and co-hosted by International Biochar Initiative where we’ll meet with other BCR leaders to help shape a sustainable future with biochar. On the 18th, be sure to catch a special presentation from PYREG investor Moritz Koch from VAERING. https://lnkd.in/dru-KqhU #Biochar #BCR #CDR #Sustainability #Pyrolysis #CarbonCredits #NetZeroTechnology #EquityInvestor
