🇪🇺 Europe Faces Billions in Climate Disaster Costs in 2024 In 2024, Europe experienced three of the top ten costliest climate disasters, according to research by Christian Aid. 🌪️ Storm Boris in central Europe and 🌊 Floods in Spain and Germany Together, they resulted in a staggering $13.87 billion USD (€13.5 billion) in damages. 💰 This year’s most financially costly climate disasters exceeded more than $4 billion USD (€3.8 billion) each. However, it's important to note that the financial focus often highlights wealthier nations, where higher property values and access to insurance inflate the numbers. Meanwhile, poorer nations bore the brunt of many of the most devastating events, underscoring the disproportionate burden of the climate crisis.
