Big News 🎉 Viva La Labia won Site of the Day on Awwwards and FWA! This project was a fantastic learning curve as we did the full scope, from branding and the visual world to crafting an experimental immersive website without a clear playbook. We’re grateful for the chance to push boundaries and invite others to take creative risks, experiment, and collaborate with artists to make something truly unique. Meet the genius behind our Branding 🔥
After two years of sharing an office space with Rocani, we moved into our own space this fall. To mark the close of this great chapter together, we’re excited to share our case study on the brand identity we developed for them last year. We crafted a modular brand system, drawing inspiration from retro games and 1990s cyberpunk culture. Starting with a core logo mark, we built a collection of symbols and alternative wordmarks that can transform into patterns, creating a versatile toolkit of design elements. 🎥 ROCANI goes Unreal Engine, and it’s so much fun!! As a studio, we naturally gravitated toward creating immersive experiences, so exploring gamified, real-time 3D was a natural next step. Why? Simply put, it opens up new possibilities. Unlike traditional 3D tools, Unreal allows live editing on the spot—no more waiting for overnight renders and surprises. Unreal is an exciting new addition to our toolbox for the correct use case. Of course, we also use Unreal to set up our VR game and participate in large-scale installations. We love webGL, but a game engine like Unreal empowers us to dream bigger and push boundaries even further. We’re excited to share our journey as we explore this new frontier. Picture this: 25 curious students squeezed in front of my screen, hungry for insights on immersive tech and the fun side of the internet! 💭 Last week, we hosted our first-ever university visit at ROCANI with an amazing group from Erasmushogeschool Brussel. Sharing our journey and process with the next generation of creatives was humbling and energizing. Their excitement about immersive tech and web3D made me reflect on how, in many ways, the internet is fun again—just like the Flash days 20 years ago!
