(IIEE) 3EXPO: A Recap The IIEE 3EXPO provided an excellent opportunity to connect, collaborate, and chart a course for future advancements in the energy sector. Representing Südkabel GmbH on-site were Pascal Ngakam and Edgar Balla, whose expertise reinforced our commitment to innovation and partnership. Here are some key highlights: 🔌 MERALCO Technical Team Engaged in discussions about their initial order of 115kV GIS systems for power substations, a milestone in our collaboration. ⚡ CBK Kalayaan Team Post-completion of the 230kV project, we explored plans for their next dual-line initiative. 🤝 MIESCOR (Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corporation) Leadership Met with Miescor's team, including their president, to reaffirm their role as a trusted General Contractor for major projects. 🏗️ Hitachi Energy Collaboration Advanced discussions on the ongoing 145kV Energy Development Corporation project, with plans for expansion in the pipeline. 🏅 IIEE Officers and Former Presidents Received recognition for our participation and began preparations for next year’s 50th Annual Anniversary, focusing on an even larger presence to highlight our leadership in the region. Südkabel’s active role at IIEE 3EXPO underscored our position as a pioneer in underground cable systems and accessories. Die #WerkstattKabel2024 ist vorbei – und wir blicken auf ein inspirierendes Event zurück! Unsere Experten waren vor Ort und haben mit spannenden Fachvorträgen, intensiven Diskussionen und innovativen Ideen die Veranstaltung bereichert. Im Fokus standen gleich zwei Vorträge unserer Experten: 🔹 Sebastian Ebert begeisterte mit seinem Vortrag zu „400 kV VPE-Kabelsystemen für das Übertragungsnetz“. Er bot wertvolle Einblicke in nachhaltige Lösungen für die Energiewende – von verlustoptimierten Leiterdesigns bis hin zu innovativen Kabelendverschlüssen. 🔹 Andreas Weinlein sprach über die Designherausforderungen bei 380 kV-Drehstrom-Erdkabelsystemen in Deutschland. Seine Erfahrungen beleuchteten die besonderen Anforderungen solcher Systeme, die insbesondere im urbanen Umfeld von wachsender Bedeutung sind. 📷 Die Eindrücke von der Veranstaltung sprechen für sich. 🌍🔧 Innovating Cable Installation: From Tent to Modular Container Concept Traditionally, the assembly of 380 kV accessories has relied on tents—particularly for double systems, where 6 cables/accessories are mounted in parallel. But it’s time for an upgrade! We’ve developed and implemented a game-changing solution: Modular Installation containers designed to replace traditional tent setups. Each container set is made up of three precisely dimensioned segments, optimized for standard truck transport. These segments are delivered to the site, lifted into the joint bay, and assembled directly on-site. Advantages at a Glance: ✅ Improved Working Conditions: Clean room conditions, forced ventilation, and a controlled environment. ✅ These improved environmental conditions have a direct, positive influence on joint installation and thus contribute to better jointing quality ✅ Time Efficiency: Modular design and pre-assembly save significant time on-site. Transportation of Modular Installation containers by standard truck transport (width 2,5 m) We’ve now commissioned five modular container sets from a trusted supplier. The first set has successfully passed the final inspection and is ready for deployment! Next Steps: These innovative containers will be piloted in the TenneT A-310 East Coast Line project—ushering in a new era of efficiency and reliability for 380 kV installations. 🔌⚡ Take a look at the pictures from our recent factory visit for the final acceptance of the first set!
