Wrapping up the year 2024 🎁 At SAMSON, we have a tradition to close the year. The packing team invites the board to come down help it get the last valve to come off the line for the year ready for shipping. This year, it was the 3241-7 pneumatic control valve – a 160-kilogram heavy-duty piece of precision engineering, built to regulate high-pressure flows reliably – on its way to South Africa. This ceremonial last package is a reminder to all of us that every single product counts, every contribution matters, and that success is a team effort. 🏋♀️ 🏋♂️ 2024 has been a year of progress. We’ve made big steps – expanded our infrastructure, refined our processes, and invested in innovation to stay ready for the future. These milestones are only possible because of the dedication and craftsmanship of our colleagues and the trust of our customers and partners around the world. Today, we are pleased to announce another milestone in our MainChange project, marking a significant step toward the company’s structural transformation. At a ceremonial event held in the future production hall for surface finishing, the District President of Darmstadt, Prof. Dr. Jan Hilligardt, together with Dr. Stefan Lugert (Approver) and Dr. Gerhard Feigl (Head of Department), officially presented the approval notice for the construction and operation of the new electroplating facility to our CEO, Dr. Andreas Widl, and Sven Donner (Project Manager, MainChange). The need to build a new electroplating facility was one of the central and most important reasons for constructing a new factory and, consequently, for relocating from Frankfurt to Offenbach. The new electroplating facility is a key component in the surface treatment process in valve production, playing a vital role in ensuring the durability and longevity of the valves. With an increase in capacity of around 30%, the new facility not only supports growing production capacities but also meets the highest standards in environmental protection and occupational safety. As Dr. Feigl highlighted, SAMSON is one of the few companies in Germany that still operate their own electroplating facility on-site. Nowadays, most companies outsource this production step. We are therefore more than pleased with how quickly the approval process for the construction of the new electroplating facility progressed. The support and determination of the Darmstadt Regional Council are a strong affirmation of our commitment to Germany as a production location. According to District President Prof. Dr. Jan Hilligardt, seven departments of the Darmstadt Regional Council, as well as the City of Offenbach and the Hessian State Office for Nature Conservation, Environment, and Geology, were involved in the process. One of the highlights of 2024 was the appointment of Norbert Tollas to the executive board as Chief Operations Officer (COO). Norbert has been an integral part of SAMSON since 2016. Before joining the board, he was responsible for Global Operations and played a key role in optimizing our value stream, driving the digital transformation of production, and building an international SAMSON production network. As COO, Norbert Tollas is now responsible for Production, Assembly, Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Production Innovation. We are excited to have Norbert on the board. With his expertise, dedication, and his positive, hands-on approach, he is a great asset to our leadership team.

MainChange: A New Perspective 🎥 The new northeast webcam is now live, offering a fresh angle on the MainChange project alongside the familiar southwest view. From this vantage point, you can see the foundation slab for the high-bay warehouse—the logistical heart of the site—taking shape. The electronics component production building, now in its interior fit-out phase, is also visible and on track to begin operations in October 2025. Right next door, construction of the surface treatment facility is making steady progress. These two perspectives bring the transformation into sharp focus. Last week we went to the student fair "meet@h_da" at Hochschule Darmstadt und yesterday we were at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt to meet and attract especially IT students. Most of them were suprised and impressed by the variety of interesting things we work on, such as our own software development and our smart and digital solutions like SAM GUARD. By 2025, India will host our third-largest manufacturing location within the SAMSON Group.
