Yesterday, the #LivingLab in #Dresden hosted a german-austrian exchange meeting focusing on the integration of AI in #education and the education of AI. The meeting brought together members of ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig, the Universität Innsbruck and the Universität Graz, including: ▶️ Ortrun Gröblinger, Deputy Head of the Central IT Service at the University of Innsbruck ▶️ Dr. Michael Kopp, Head of the Center for Digital Teaching and Learning at the University of Graz This exchange meeting highlights the significance of cross-border collaboration in #AI and #DigitalLearning, paving the way for innovative advancements in educational technology. ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig, das Zentrum für skalierbare Datenanalyse und Künstliche Intelligenz, ist ein Forschungszentrum für Data Science, Künstliche Intelligenz und Big Data mit Standorten in Dresden sowie Leipzig. Es ist eines von insgesamt fünf KI-Kompetenzzentren in Deutschland, die im Rahmen der KI-Strategie des Bundes gefördert werden und als dauerhafte Forschungseinrichtung etabliert werden. Seit 2019 wird der Ausbau zum KI-Zentrum durch das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung sowie durch den Freistaat Sachsen unterstützt. Beide Standorte sind jeweils an eine lokale Hochschule angebunden, die Technische Universität Dresden und die Universität Leipzig.

From 11.-15.11.2024, ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig principal investigators Prof. Michael Färber and Prof. Simon Razniewski attended ISWC'24 in Baltimore, Maryland. Prof. Michael Färber presented two papers: one at the main conference and one at a workshop. Prof. Simon Razniewski co-organized the KBC-LM workshop, which was the most attended workshop, including several inspiring keynotes. Furthermore, his external PhD student, Hiba Arnaout, received the best dissertation award of the Semantic Web Science Association (SWSA). Congratulations!

👋 Today, the Science Communication Network of Leipzig University visited ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig. Communication manager Jana Bendigs gave insights into #sciencecommunication at our #LivingLab and the center. This was followed by a tour of the Living Lab with the presentation of the demonstrators installed there.
