Conversations with friends bring new perspectives and inspiration for future tasks, both privately and professionally. I enjoy discussing with friends/colleagues and exchanging points of view. It's not about being right or wrong, but about gaining new insights through discourse. It has been a great and inspirational time at Bits & Pretzels, packed with inspiring talks, new connections and high level speakers. Some of my key takeaways are: 👉 I have the feeling that the startup community recovers, there was overall a positive mood at the event. 👉 While there are some concerns about an AI investment bubble, the enthusiasm for substantive AI applications that deliver real customer value and go beyond the use of “AI” as a mere buzzword continues: There are new breakthroughs every week. It is becoming increasingly clear how profoundly AI is penetrating our lives and how much it is changing our society, economy and creativity. 👉 This technological progress brings with it ethical and regulatory challenges. The need to develop transparent and safe AI systems is becoming increasingly apparent. The question is no longer whether we should regulate AI, but how we can do so effectively to ensure both innovation and safety. 👉 AI is not just a tool, but a catalyst for creative, industrial and societal transformations. It is up to us to shape these changes and ensure that the technology is developed in a direction that serves the good of all humanity.

A really delightful time with the inspiring German PropTech community at the REAL PropTech Zukunftskonferenz in Frankfurt. The event, organized by blackprint gathered a diverse array of stakeholders transforming the German real estate industry including investors, entrepreneurs, Proptech companies, consulting companies, traditional real estate companies and passionate PropTech enthusiasts. Some highlights this year were: 💡Exciting insights into the tension between #AI and data protection: ideas on how to maximize the automation potential of AI through intelligent IT architectures while ensuring #datasecurity for sensitive information. 💚New impulses on the topics of #GreenSuccess (the real estate industry is responsible for around a third of German CO2 emissions!), #digitization, #automation and #AI. 😍 Promising conversations about possible collaborations. #Networking opportunities. 🕺 A great closing party at Fortuna Irgendwo, in a relaxed atmosphere, with nice conversations and further new contacts.   Many thanks to blackprint, Sarah Maria Schlesinger, Orla Nolan, Malte Westphal and everyone involved in making this event happen. I can say that this year has been one of the most exciting ones in my life. I learnt so much about myself, my capabilities, my ability to learn new things, and life in general. I also got to meet so many different people with all sorts of ideas and outlook on life. In 2023, I founded a company, hired computer science students, developed a prototype with them and found an amazing technical co-founder (Stefan Stadlberger) to bring in comprehensive technical expertise and refine the product strategy. We received funding from the EU SME fund, attended the exciting Bits&Bretzels event, reached the final in the Münchner Businessplan Wettbewerb from BayStartUP in phase 1 and started with investor pitches. I’m very much looking forward to the next chapter in 2024. The main goals for next year are: Find additional pilot customers, extend the prototype into an MVP, get seed funding, get support from public startup programs and finally increase the customer base to 100 paying customers by the end of the year.
