What's it like being a small startup advising the EU on cybersecurity alongside IT giants?  Our CTO Lars Francke shares the inside story! Collaboration and a willingness to learn 💡 Supply chain security and vulnerability management are becoming increasingly important, but managing them is no small feat. Organisations across industries are struggling with complex dependencies, long update cycles and the need for greater visibility into their software supply chain. At the #CSAF Community Days 2024, Lukas teamed up with Stefan Fleckenstein from MaibornWolff GmbH to present "VEX-supported Vulnerability Management with SecObserve." The event brought together a diverse community of security leaders, from startups to giants like Huawei and Siemens, to share insights and tackle common challenges. For Lukas, the highlight was learning how companies of all sizes are tackling these issues and sharing ideas: ▪️ Accelerating patch processes, especially in OT environments with long update cycles ▪️ Simplifying software dependency management in supply chains ▪️ Standardising communication through frameworks such as CSAF to reduce manual effort and improve visibility At Stackable, we’re making great strides to stay ahead of the game: ✅ Building comprehensive SBOMs to map out software components ✅ Implementing vulnerability management and tracking systems ✅ Using CSAF to provide machine-readable, standardised advisories for seamless communication with customers 👉 Supply chain security requires collaboration and shared learning to be successful. How is your organisation addressing these challenges? #StackableDataPlatform #YourDataYourPlatform

𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 👏 Last week, the #GaiaX journey reached an exciting milestone at the final event in Forum Digitale Technologien | Berlin As part of this initiative, we’ve seen incredible progress in creating trusted, federated data spaces across Europe. We’re proud to have been part of this event and to present #MarispaceX together with our consortium partners, where Stackable contributes to developing foundational technology for digitizing the ocean. In an age of hybrid warfare and the growing threat of underwater sabotage, the digitisation of the maritime environment is more important than ever. Our data space provides Gaia-X compliant access to maritime data and government data services, ensuring secure subscriber registration, access management and seamless data integration. In addition to preparing for monitoring critical maritime infrastructure, Marispace-X has been able to showcase results such as the detection of munitions in the sea, the distribution of seagrass meadows as CO2 reservoirs using satellite data, and data visualisation of the seabed beneath wind farms. Of course, the future of Gaia-X was also discussed at the programme's closing event: The concept of data spaces is becoming more widely used, and programmes such as IPCEI-CIS and Manufacturing-X promise to take the Gaia-X vision even further. Stackable Data Platform Release 24.11: New Features, Versions and Security 🚀 We're thrilled to announce the release of Stackable Data Platform 24.11 - just in time for the end of November! 🍂 This update brings major improvements in security, performance, and scalability. Highlights: New Platform Features: 🔐 Authentication: Newly OIDC support for Apache Airflow and NiFi. Kerberos support for Apache Kafka. 🛡️ Security: TLS certificate provisioning with cert-manager and RSA key length customization. Active Directory now supported as backend for user groups. 🌐 Listener Updates: External access to Kafka via the Listener operator is now possible. ☁️ Dependencies: Apache HBase now supports Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. 🐍 Miscellaneous: Custom Python config code support for NiFi, Airflow, and Superset. Docker images updated for OpenShift and non-root containers.
