Your data, your platform
Info
Your data, your platform! The Stackable Data Platform was designed with openness and flexibility in mind. It provides you with a curated selection of the best open source data apps like Apache Kafka®, Apache Druid, Trino and Apache Spark™. All data apps work together seamlessly, and can be added or removed in no time. Based on Kubernetes, it runs everywhere – on-prem or in the cloud. Use it to create unique and enterprise-class data architectures. For example, it supports modern Data Warehouses, Data Lakehouses, Event Streaming, Machine Learning or Data Meshes. Stackable was founded in 2020 from the community ethos and therefore makes its platform available as an open source product with freely accessible source code with a commercial service and support offering. Only software with non-restrictive, open source licensing is included in Stackable Data Platform meaning you’re free to use it however you want at any scale. We are convinced that the future of software development is open source. With Stackable, we want to go down this path and are looking for bright minds, tinkerers and developers who will accompany us on this path as employees or contributors. Whether it’s a pull request, issue or Github comment – get in touch with us and become part ! The Stackable Data Platform - your modular open source data platform

𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐁𝐈 𝐚𝐭 #DOAG2024 How do you build a scalable, open-source BI stack that’s cloud-native and easy to deploy? At the DOAG 2024 conference, our CPO Sönke and Janis Ax from ORDIX AG shared their approach in a talk titled: "Breaking the Chains: Open Source as the Master Key for BI." They showcased how Apache NiFi and Superset, deployed on Kubernetes, can unlock powerful, lock-in-free data solutions. And with Kubernetes Operators and Infrastructure-as-Code, it’s easier than you’d think! 🙌 The conference itself was buzzing – 1,500 attendees, countless tracks, and AI leading the conversation everywhere. We also loved TeamBank AG’s talk on Software Supply Chain Security! Were you at DOAG 2024? What inspired you most? #StackableDataPlatform #YourDataYourPlatform

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐧-𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐦 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤: 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬! The Stackable team had a fantastic week on-prem! From productive work sessions to Bavarian traditions, we packed each day with great moments 😊 Here’s a quick look back: Many of us traveled in on Sunday, ready to hit the ground running on Monday with plenty to tackle. Tuesday was packed – we enjoyed Lars’s talk on “Patch handling with git and jujutsu”, followed by a proper Bavarian Brotzeit with Weißwurst for lunch. We wrapped up Tuesday with a fantastic team dinner 🤤 Wednesday we focused on office work and a security workshop. We also teamed up with Synabi Business Solutions GmbH, another part of the b.telligent family, for a workshop to dive into new ideas and perspectives that we're excited to bring forward. Also a big thank you to Synabi for letting us stay in their offices for our on-prem week! We ended the day with a beer tasting at Bierothek 🍻 - a night to remember! Before most of us head home today, Thursday was packed with lots of face-to-face collaboration, which is pretty unusual for us as we're normally a completely remote company. On the work side, our highlights included improving security vulnerability management, overhauling our Kubernetes testing infrastructure, and prepping for our upcoming Release R24.11, which is set for mid-November 💪 Thanks to everyone for making it an awesome week – both productive and filled with fun memories. Here’s to the next one! 🎊 Julian Eberhardt Thomas Ebner Christoph Rugo Alexander Sitte #YourDataYourPlatform #StackableDataPlatform #TeamBuilding

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 Smart Country Convention 𝐢𝐧 hub27 Berlin! 👏 Our COO Stefan Igel had an amazing time catching up with well-known partners, meeting new faces, and diving deep into some serious #PublicSector conversations. Special shoutout to Claudio Serrano, Jan Schruff, Tim Kartali, Daniel Benad, Constantin Steppeler, and everyone else from the IONOS Sales Team – thank you for your hospitality at the IONOS stand! The partner country Latvia not only demonstrated what successful digitalisation of administration can look like (you can even get divorced online in Latvia 🤯), but was also able to offer delicious beer and red wine in the evening. Oh, and let's not forget the AWS stand: the free burgers were legendary 🍔😋 Our key takeaway? Digitalizing the public sector in Germany takes patience – it's a slow but steady process. But what's really exciting is seeing how #DataPlatforms are making waves, and #GenAI is being explored in some fascinating government use cases. A much-noticed example was the chatbot of DATEN:RAUM:FREIBURG, which can answer all questions about the city – presented by our partners codecentric AG and Benz + Walter GmbH. Looking forward to what’s next and already excited about future opportunities 😊 #YourDataYourPlatform #StackableDataPlatform #SCCon24

⏳ 𝐍𝐈𝐒𝟐 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧: 𝐈𝐬 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐄𝐔 𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝? By next week, NIS2 should be adopted as national law in all EU member states. While some countries have already passed or drafted legislation, there are others where the status is unclear. In Germany, for example, NIS2 legislation is now expected in early 2025, well past the original October deadline. 🤔 At Stackable, we understand the challenges of complying with evolving regulations. Our open source data platform simplifies compliance by helping organizations securely manage their data infrastructure without adding complexity. How about you? Are you ready for NIS2, or still navigating the implementation process?

𝐖𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐀𝐈 – 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥! 🤯 Here at Stackable, we're always looking for ways to make our technical content more accessible, especially since it can be hard to explain complex terms and processes 🤔. So we recently gave GenAI a try at creating content by generating a sample AI episode in podcast style from our tech docs. In less than an hour (!), we had scanned our documents and turned them into an engaging podcast. The results were quite interesting! We'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Check out our blog post for more technical details and to listen to the result! ➡️ Link in the first comment #StackableDataPlatform #YourDataYourPlatform

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐒 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 Our team had the pleasure of attending the IONOS Summit 2024 last week - an event designed specifically for customer and partner IT executives. After almost taking a wrong turn and ending up at the parallel event “Deutscher Verwaltertag” 😉 , we found our way through the Estrel Berlin to the summit and started our day with enriching conversations over steaming coffee ☕ The IONOS Summit was an amazing event filled with inspiring keynotes and informative presentations. One of our personal highlights was Sandra Sitter's presentation on NIS-2 / DORA – a topic central to the EU's cybersecurity of the financial industry and one of our core customer segments! We also took the opportunity to network with technology enthusiasts and industry leaders. The discussions with colleagues from Eliatra, Red Hat, disy.net and Benz + Walter GmbH were particularly enriching. Many thanks to IONOS for the invitation and we are already looking forward to next year's summit. 😊 #IONOSSummit2024 #Cybersecurity #StackableDataPlatform #YourDataYourPlatform
