We saw an opportunity to express our commitment to socio-ecological sustainability through B Corp certification and become a part of a global movement of people using business as a force for good. One of our major milestones, during this certification journey, was integrating stakeholder governance into our by-laws, ensuring legal accountability to all stakeholders, not just shareholders. This has reinforced our long-term commitment to sustainability, accountability and transparency. During the certification process (and every re-certification) we have rigorously assessed our impact in 5 core areas - Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. We’ve continuously improved our performance in each of these areas, ensuring that our positive impact is felt across every facet of our business. In addition, through our B Corp journey and recertifications in 2018 and 2021, we have improved and sharpened our Impact Business Model, i.e. the way in which our business is designed to create a positive outcome for stakeholders through our clients. Our initial B Corp Certification in 2016 was just the beginning of the journey. Through continuous improvement, we’ve walked the talk and demonstrated that a FutureFit business is one that not only adapts to change but actively shapes a sustainable future by leveraging science-based sustainability principles and purpose-driven culture.
