The first #OpenDay since 2014 at the DKFZ Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum on Sunday was a great success! Thank you to Eva Krieghoff-Henning and Victoria Gensch for the preparation and help on the day of and Stephanie Schlichtner, PhD, Lena Willnow, Nadja Peckmann, Simone Kurzynski, Melanie Janning, Prof. Sonja Loges MD, PhD and of course Mila for the help at the booth. Our activities were very well received with barely 5 minutes without visitors throughout the day. A lot of kids and adults helped us by finding #CTCs in the blood on a hidden object poster, fishing for magnetically labelled CTCs in mixture of 'cells' and finally piecing together the analysis picture in form of a jigsaw. Judging by the DKFZ branded prices we were able to hand out, more than 200 #scientists were successful in helping us with our #research and many more stopped by to chat with the #team about our work.

In October, our MD student Louisa Hommerich did a great job presenting her work (supervised by Martin Ziegler) at #DGHO2024 in Basel. Louisa is working on the characterization of the oncogenic potential of FGFR variants of unknown significance. We will be at the DKFZ Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum on Sunday the 17th of November (11-17h) at the #OpenDay. Maike Collienne was not only awarded an ESMO - European Society for Medical Oncology MAP Merit Travel grant to the Molecular Analysis for Precision Oncology #Congress 2024 but also presented her #poster on 'Real-world insights in precision oncology: First data of the comprehensive clinico-genomics database network AIO-BNHO-CONNECT (AIO-TF-0122) in Germany' in October in London.
