Yesterday a delegation of Norwegian companies finalized their visit to Hamburg and Rostock to explore new hydrogen collaborations and business opportunities.💡   The trade mission, organized by Innovasjon Norge and Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP) in partnership with Renewable Energy Hamburg, H2Cluster and Invest in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, brought together hydrogen suppliers, engineering and designing companies, subsea technology, and transporation solution providers to deep dive into discussions to close the gap for this low carbon energy industry.   🔷 During the visits and meetings, the Norwegian and German counterparts pitched, discussed joint projects, technology routes, and strategies for scaling up hydrogen and ammonia production and distribution.   "This mission demonstrates our strong commitment to driving the hydrogen revolution through international cooperation," said Innovation Norways special advisor Gerda Geyer.   Key outcomes included new discussions on cross-border infrastructure, and knowledge sharing on transportation and safety standards. From Sulitjelma to Austria: Green sapphire production in Fauske will strengthen Norway's position in the global semiconductor industry!💎Innovation Norway has granted Norwegian company Arctic Sapphire AS NOK 77.2 million in loans and grants for green sapphire production in Sulitjelma. This will finance a zero-emission pilot plant. The goal is to revolutionize the production of sapphire crystals, a critical component in semiconductors and micro-LED displays. "This is a project with enormous potential for both local and national value creation, in terms of jobs and export revenues, which Innovation Norway is naturally keen to support," says Innovation Norway's CEO Håkon Haugli. The company has partnered with Austrian industry leader EBNER GROUP, the main shareholder in Arctic Sapphire. Ebner has developed groundbreaking furnace technology that will significantly reduce energy and material consumption compared to current industry standards🔥. The location in Sulitjelma, with its natural cooling water and surplus hydropower, enables further reduction in energy consumption, making the production even more environmentally friendly. This unique combination of Austrian engineering excellence and Norwegian green energy showcases the power of European collaboration in sustainable technology.
