Climate, energy, mobility: We need novel and game-changing solutions that work in the overall context. "System-of-systems" add this holistic view to research and innovation. They also add extra complexity to an already complex challenge. Time for systematic research... I am sure that COLOSSUS will be an important driving force for the development of effective, sustainable innovation in aviation - and perhaps even beyond.

The new modes of transport vehicles #eVTOL and #Seaplane are designed with the developed Holistic System of systems approach for multirole use cases: ✈ Sustainable Intermodal Mobility 🔥 Aerial Wildfire Fighting. For the broader community, The COLOSSUS project aims to create an open-source Agent-Based Modelling and Simulation Environment for System of Systems use cases, which will offer a platform on which future researchers and students in the field can be trained. “COLOSSUS EU Project is a challenging exploration for multi-system emergence. The system of systems approach is extremely useful for handling complex product development for several socio-technical problems, sustainable mobility, and other R&D problems. We had a successful first year of collaborative learning, thanks to all the partners, especially to the project proposal ideation team - Dr. Björn Nagel, Christopher Jouannet Thierry Lefebvre Martin Spieck Fabrizio Nicolosi Luca Boggero and current work package leads Nabih Naeem, Kristian Amadori, Jasamin Akbari, Michele Tuccillo, Ludvig Knöös Franzén, Jan Vos” -Prajwal Shivaprakash, Project Coordinator Aviation System Design and Assessment (ASDA) – #PandaWorks DLR Institute of Systems Architectures in Aeronautics.
