👓 Are you ready for Life in the Metaverse? Life experiences in the virtual worlds can either be liberating and free or enclosed and discriminatory. Join us to discuss the latest thinking on how to imagine and govern life in virtual worlds. What would you like a metaverse to be? We are looking for fresh ideas to expand current projects and welcome your unique perspectives. 📆 3 December | 5 PM 📍 TUM Think Tank In his upcoming book "Governing the Metaverse: Law, order and freedom in digital space" Professor Mark Findlay radically repositions conventional thinking about how personal identity, community bonding, and orderly existence can be ensured in the virtual, breaking away from how we understand markets, governance, technology and law in realspace. 📚 The first part of this session will see him introduce some of the central thinking in this analysis and open up an opportunity for a wide ranging discussion about how the metaverse and its many derivations can be spaces for more fulfilling and sustainable life experiences than presently prevail in realspace. Key to this is what he proposes as 'New Law'. 🤝 The second half of the session will focus around an overview by the editors of a project in which young voices, assisted by Alice's adventures in wonderland, express their vision for central concerns in the metaverse relating to identity, gender, personhood, property and the intersections between technology and social flourishing. The audience will have the opportunity to participate in shaping the development of this project and to share in the experience of publishing young scholars and their unique concerns and considerations. 👇 Sign up via the link in the comments and join us there! Open to everyone interested!! cc: Sofie Schönborn, Noha Lea Halim, Hochschule für Politik München, TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology, Technical University of Munich

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT / FAQ for APPLICATIONS Dear All, Thank you very much for your interest in our project. We reached 100 followers on the first day of our launch, and within the first 3 minutes of publishing the announcement, we received 5 applications. We sincerely appreciate your attention. On this occasion, we would like to address some of the frequently asked questions (FAQ): 📌 1. Work Location ✅ 1. We primarily prefer to work online. However, if you're in Munich, you are welcome to join us in person for certain activities. So, to address any remaining uncertainties: residing in Munich or Germany is not a requirement. 📌 2. Work Hours and Conditions ✅ 2. There are no regular or strict working hours. The work will be organized on a task-based basis. Monthly meetings will be scheduled at specific times. Therefore, we do not anticipate any impediment to your full-time employment. Although this is a volunteer and unpaid opportunity, we encourage you to review the benefits we offer, as we believe they present valuable professional opportunities. 📌 3. Application Process, Deadline, and Results ✅ 3. As outlined in the application document, please submit your application in English to fsf.canturk@gmail.com. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications submitted through other channels. We kindly recommend that you include a brief cover letter introducing yourself or your most recent CV, and a description of how you can contribute to the Hub. The application deadline is December 15, 2024, and we anticipate notifying applicants of the results by the end of December. 📌 4. Which fields are eligible for application? May undergraduate students apply? ✅ 4. Yes, as an undergraduate student, you may apply. As stated in the application document, we welcome applications from individuals at all educational levels (undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral) from around the world who share the vision of the Hub. While we prioritize candidates from the fields of Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Finance, and Law, we are open to all applicants who have an interest in and are actively engaged in the Hub's areas of focus. 📌 5. Activities and workshops ✅ 5. As highlighted in the White Paper, the Hub is not a specific project but rather a structure designed to bring together experts and enthusiasts in the fields of finance, technology, and law to enable the development of multiple projects. Therefore, under the Hub's framework, you can create various projects within the Working Groups, which will be formed to prioritize different themes. Events related to these projects (such as workshops, symposiums, and so on) can be organized not only in Germany but also physically and/or in hybrid formats worldwide, if the necessary conditions are provided. In short, through the Hub, we offer you an opportunity to realize your potential from a multidisciplinary perspective in the fields of technology, finance, and law.
