In our latest newsletter you can read about the International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (ICG). At their 18th meeting the members openly acknowledged the risks highlighted by the United Nations Global Geodetic Centre of Excellence (UN-GGCE). “I was very impressed by the openness of the ICG members and their willingness to discuss options to strengthen the global geodesy supply chain in the future", says Nicholas Brown, Head of Office, UN-GGCE. In addition to the ICG meeting you can read about how the UN-GGCE team has interacted with a broad range of stakeholders in the past few months. We are also happy to present our Geodesy Capacity Development Workshop Series 2025. The UN-GGCE will provide workshops across the five UN-GGIM regions: UN-GGIM: Europe, Africa, UN-GGIM: Américas, Arab States and Asia-Pacific. "We hope the workshop series will serve as a platform to strengthen global geodetic capabilities, ensuring that all Member States are equipped to support sustainable development through accurate and reliable geospatial information, leaving no one behind", says Nicholas Brown. #StrongerTogether #Geodesy #Geospatial #SDGs https://lnkd.in/dz_ytWiy

The United Nations Global Geodetic Centre of Excellence (UN-GGCE) strive for a future where all countries have strong support for geodesy, and part of making this possible is a well-positioned team to support Member States and partners. We are proud to share this United Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology interview with our UN-GGCE staff member Dr. Liubov Poshyvailo-Strube. The interview is part of the UN #WomenInTech campaign to highlight the contributions and impact of women working in technology fields across the United Nations Secretariat. “Working at the UN Global Geodetic Centre of Excellence gives me an excellent opportunity to apply my technical knowledge and skills while contributing to the well-being of humanity and the planet.” Dr. Liubov Poshyvailo-Strube https://lnkd.in/dpynyx7y #WomenInTech #StrongerTogether #Geodesy

UN Day marks the official establishment of the United Nations on October 24, 1945, thriving at maintaining international peace and security, protecting human rights, and promoting sustainable development. This year, Bonn celebrated UN Day on October 12th, bringing together 25 UN exhibitors, including United Nations Global Geodetic Centre of Excellence (UN-GGCE). For UN-GGCE, this was the first participation and provided a unique opportunity to connect with various UN entities and showcase the work we do. Over 2,500 interested citizens visited the UN stands: from the youngest visitors who were excited to answer simplest UN questions and receive rewards, to a more experienced and no less curious public who wanted to learn more about the initiatives and innovative projects of the UN or even tell their own stories about working in international organizations. Among others, the mayor of Bonn, Katja Dörner, was the honorary guest at the UN exhibitions. To keep a memory of the UN Day, visitors could take home books with the UN Charter. This UN Day in Bonn was a true celebration, where international organizations engaged with citizens and once again emphasized the importance of joint efforts for the benefit of humanity and the planet. #StrongerTogether #Geodesy #Act4SDGs UN SDG Action Campaign Photo Credit: UN SDG Action Campaign/ Mohammed Mostafa 🇺🇳
