Altogether, HADAG Seetouristik und Fährdienst AG Seetouristik und Fährdienst AG operates eight #ferry lines and several event #ships in the Port of Hamburg ⚓and on the Elbe. The ferries are an indispensable part of public transport in the metropolis, which is dominated by the river. Since last year, HADAG has been renewing its fleet with the aim of making it more #sustainable. As part of this, the has put the first two of a total of three new type 2030 ferries ⛴️ in operation. These are equipped with an environmentally friendly hybrid system including two of our Voith Schneider Propeller (#eVSP) type 9x5/100. HADAG plans to charge the ships' batteries at night. This will allow as much of the operation as possible to be carried out electrically. HADAG aims to save at least 20% of CO2 emissions per ship. In addition, the new ships are already H2-ready and thus designed for completely emission-free operation with state-of-the-art #hydrogen technology. The ferries offer space for 250 passengers and, at 33 meters, are slightly longer than the traditional ferries. Another striking feature of the new hybrid ferries is that they are significantly quieter than the previous ferries.
