🌍 Today is World Sustainable Transport Day – a reminder that while transport connects people, fosters trade, and drives economic growth, it is also a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions. ❓ Did you know that, according to the 2024 Emissions Gap Report, released ahead of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29) concluding today, a 42% reduction in global greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to current levels is necessary to meet the 1.5°C target and mitigate climate change? 🌱 At #Voith, we recognize our responsibility to reduce emissions and place #sustainability at the heart of our actions. A prime example is our participation in the United Nations "Sustainable Development Goals Innovation Accelerator", where young talents work on innovative and sustainable solutions to address challenges related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 💡 As part of the UN Global Compact Netzwerk Deutschland initiative, our Voith talents Sarah Schumacher and Michael Schneider analyzed opportunities to reduce CO₂-emissions within the supply chain. They identified steel as a main driver of CO₂-emissions in the Voith supply chain and developed measures – for example with a potential green steel quota – to reduce CO₂-emissions in a long-term perspective. A big ❤️ for all the children around the world: today we are celebrating World Children’s Day! At #Voith, we know it is up to us to shape our actions sustainably – in a way that preserves the world for future generations. But what are we doing to make children strong for the future? 🌟 We support the development of young people through vocational training opportunities and dual-study programs all around the globe – giving today’s youth a professional perspective. 🌟 We provide donations and sponsorships to support organizations that stand up for the rights of children, such as #UNICEF, and foster initiatives with a focus on education and training for children, adolescents, and young adults. 🌟In India, within the #VoithCares program, Voith was able to provide bicycles to 23 underprivileged children in the poor region of Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. This initiative is enabling children to attend school and filling a crucial gap for families unable to afford public transport. 🌟 The #Haiti Kinderhilfe association has received financial support for a tree planting project, promoting social protection and sustainable climate protection in #Haiti. The aim of the organization is to provide children and young people with education through self-help, so they have the chance of employment in adulthood. 🌟 In #Brazil, the Voith Formare program offers apprenticeships and vocational training to low-income young people attending public schools in the Jaraguá area. Since 2006, more than 300 students have benefited from this program, which qualifies young people for their first job. 🌟 The world needs innovative and visionary minds, so every child should be able to fuel their passion for science, technology, engineering, and math. In #Germany, Voith is supporting initiatives such as the Wissensfabrik, a nonprofit association that supports #STEM education for kids from primary school age onwards. Working together, we can make the world we live in a little better for our children. Happy World Children’s Day to all those wonderful kids out there! ❤️

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming 50 students from the vocational programs in Sales, Marketing, and IT Development at the Tarcísio Álvares Lobo State School at the #Voith site in São Paulo, Brazil. 🎓 During their visit, the #students attended insightful lectures delivered by our experts: 💼 Almir Cordeiro (Voith Paper): Sales Strategy 🔋 Bruno Maranho (Voith Hydro): Basics of Power Plant Automation 🌱 Manoel Torres Filho (Voith Paper): Sustainability and Environmental Preservation The students also explored our facilities, including the wastewater treatment plant and the waste materials center, learning firsthand about environmentally responsible practices. This remarkable experience not only deepened knowledge and inspired future careers but also reinforced the bond between education and #industry. #TeamVoith #Sustainability

This Wednesday evening, we had the pleasure of welcoming Marketing Club Ostwürttemberg e.V. to our headquarters in Heidenheim to discuss communication topics. 🎤 Our communication experts presented inspiring campaigns and projects.
