I didn't ask for easy I just wanted possible 🏄♂️
Raising a fund, fundraising for a startup, or selling your product these days is just about how many "NOs" you can endure in order to eventually achieve success. Today, we have reached the first close of our €30m Fund.
For those who know me, leaving the security of my comfortable position at a BigTech Company to pursue my own venture was a daunting experience for me. It feels scary, people wish you good luck with your dream and here you are - you are on your own. Now build it. Today, it feels strange that I read our fund's name all over the media, In outlets that I follow since my first touchpoint with the startup ecosystem. It is time to say thank you to the best partners for this undertaking Axel and Susanne.
Thank you to Joerg & Timo from Walden Holding for your trust and spirit, amplifying that Investments are needed to maintain the pace of transformation that is being presented elsewhere in order for the German Mittelstand to stay competetive!
I also want to thank all the startups that chose us as an investor and chose to grow together - further. I'd like to thank our very early limited partners Michael Hoffmann, Prof. Martin Kaiser, Dennis Beste, Sven Slazenger, Manfred Wolff, Nico Dorenkamp, Dr. Johannes Ranke, Florian Fink, Hannes Rang, David Gaßner and Schleber Finanz-Consult GmbH and many more who trusted in us when we showed up with a 5-slider and a bold thesis.
I want to thank Matias Collan 🚀 and Philip Mostertz who really made the difference in elevating our fund to the next-level. You guys go way beyond the ordinary. 🙏
💌 And most important all the gratitude to my wife Lisa Stark who always gave us the unfiltered feedback, provided a safe base and encouraged me to go above and beyond!
And thank you to all the bridgemakers, diplomats, believer, superconnectors that I might forgot to mention!
Do hard things. Do your thing. Do it for decades. Write your story.
