Our CEO Dr. Robert Richard Richter was honored with the VDE Bayern Award Startups! 🚀 The jury based its decision on his innovative work in startup promotion: Dr. Robert R. Richter has had a lasting impact on the startup scene in Bavaria, particularly in electrical engineering and information technology. As CEO, he has turned the WERK1 startup center into a hub for the startup world. The award in the startup category not only honors Robert R. Richter, but also the entire WERK1 – the most startup-friendly place in Munich and everyone who works on innovations in our network every day! Above all, of course, our digital tech startups that are shaping the world with their innovations. 💙 The VDE Bayern Abend took place for the fifth time last week. The panel with State Parliament President Ilse Aigner MdL, the Chairman of Landesinnungsverbandes für das Bayerische Elektrohandwerk (LIV) Hans Auracher and the President of the Universität Bayreuth, Stefan Leible discussed the question of how science and trade can work together to tackle the energy transition, digitalization and the like. It was a great evening full of curiosity, courage, technology and entrepreneurship - thank you very much for the award for Dr. Robert R. Last week, the second edition of the City Demo Day took place at WERK1, focusing on the exciting theme of "Mobility"! 🚀 On November 13, Munich’s vibrant startup ecosystem with representatives from the city administration and other municipalities met all working toward creating innovative solutions for urban challenges. This time, the event featured not only pitches and an innovation expo, but also inspiring talks from the Competence Center for Innovative Procurement and the Hamburg State Office for Roads, Bridges, and Waterways, highlighting how startups and public administration can successfully collaborate to drive change. Recently we had the honor to host the Red Bull Basement National Final Germany at WERK1 – the most startup-friendly place in Munich! 🚀 It was an event where groundbreaking ides met the power of collaboration. The 10 most promising ideas out of over 100 submissions competed against each other to secure the spot in the global Red Bull Basement Final in Tokyo! Together with Hanna Hofmann und Christian Dotzauer our CEO Dr. Robert Richard Richter took a close look at the teams as a juror. Sophia Bernadette Lick came out on top with her AI-based 1:1 mental coaching app for athletes called Mind League. We were honored to welcome Bavaria’s State Minister for Digital Affairs Dr. Fabian Mehring to WERK1 for a visit with the GovRadar team recently. The Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs / Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Digitales is already using GovRadar successfully.
