As part of our acceleration we had the privilege of hosting an engaging and insightful xday session with Emil Kabisch, a seasoned CPO, who left us with some actionable insights on building impactful, customer-centric products. Emil emphasized the critical importance of 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 to maximize value and minimize wasted resources. Here's what we learned: ✅ What features to build: Focus on features that address an 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 or align with a 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞. These should deliver 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞, backed by 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 and 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭. 🚫 What to avoid: Steer clear of building features that offer 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞, lack differentiation, or are merely "table stakes." Avoid those with 𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦-𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐭, or where customers aren't engaging. Instead, consider integrating existing solutions when feasible. Emil’s insights were a powerful reminder that 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 0 𝐭𝐨 1 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 - one that requires focus, discipline, and a relentless commitment to solving real customer problems.
