Our xdeck advent calendar is here, and we’re kicking it off with an inspiring success story – let’s talk about Vytal Global! Here’s something you might not know about Vytal: Their founder Tim Breker pitched to King Charles at Buckingham Palace! Invited by His Majesty to an international sustainability reception, he presented Vytal Global’s vision of a #Circulareconomy and discussed the path to a sustainable future. Vytal, from the first batch of our accelerator program, has developed a groundbreaking reusable packaging system that replaces single-use containers at events, supermarkets, and delivery services. Their Packaging-as-a-Service model makes it easy for partners to offer high-quality, sustainable solutions. Want to join our free accelerator program and take your vision to the next level? Who knows? Maybe you’ll be the next of our 80 startups to receive an invitation from King Charles 😉 Apply now at https://lnkd.in/dzZvhX5w or book a meeting with Benedict to learn more! #xdeckadventcalendar

From Coca Cola and Unilever to Mercadona and Essity. Thank you ECOEMBES for this opportunity! See link in comments for more information. #CircularPackagingChallenge #EconomíaCircular

1️⃣ summit, 2️⃣ days, endless ideas! 💡 Michael and I are heading to the Hamburg Sustainability Summit 2024! Before I get on stage to battle it out with my fellow startup peers—Wilhelm Hammes, Janik Seitzer, Oliver Ritzmann, Boris Hesse, Thorsten Ratzlaff, Robin Hüdepohl, Sven Saborosch, and Jaron Pazi—for the Sustainability Summit Startup Award, Michael and I will be mingling with the masses of attendees. Don’t be shy—come say hi at our stand! Looking forward to reconnecting with Planted, another neoteq ventures-funded startup. We’re all pushing towards the same goal—just from different angles, and that’s what makes this Sustainability Summit cool. There’s a ton of exciting topics on deck: 1️⃣ secondary material sourcing, 2️⃣ sustainable energy, and 3️⃣ decarbonization through digitalization—all the good stuff I’m eager to dive into. I’m looking forward to hearing what Dr. Ina Othersen from the Volkswagen Group has to share about their Regenerate+ Sustainability Strategy. I’m especially interested in their Business dimension, where they’re transitioning to circular business models like vehicle-on-demand and #subscription services. 💡 This resonates deeply with our work at circuly, the software solution that enables subscription models. I’m eager to learn how Volkswagen has approached this transition and what insights they have to offer. And of course, I’ll be keeping an open ear on discussions around standards and reporting—I’m pretty sure Sophia will appreciate that! Looking forward to connecting with everyone and being part of this incredible journey towards a sustainable future. See you in Hamburg! P.S. If you’re attending the summit, drop what you’re looking forward to in the comments below! #circulareconomy #businessmodelinnovation #ecommerce

🌟 𝗔 𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗽𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗺'𝘀 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁 🌟 Reflecting on our recent participation at Tech Tour Circular in Ghent hosted by Tech Tour, Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), the city of Ghent and the North Sea Port, it's safe to say the experience was simply great. As a member of the selection panel, Jens Uhlemann from #LifeHubMonheim played a pivotal role in identifying standout startups looking for success. Having attended previous TechTour Sustainability events, our team knew to expect nothing less than excellence—and we were not disappointed. The event served as a hub of innovation around the topic of circularity, sparking conversations and connections that will also undoubtedly impact the future of sustainability in agriculture. Here's what made the event so memorable: 🔑 Interesting key themes: Circularity overall and specifically in agriculture emerged as a central theme, aligning seamlessly with #LifeHubMonheim's commitment to driving positive change. 🚀 36 Startups: From groundbreaking technology to disruptive business models, the startups showcased at the event left us inspired and eager to collaborate. 💬 Networking: Engaging in speed dating sessions with startups, investors, and fellow corporates provided a lot of opportunities for meaningful connections and exploring potential partnerships. We look forward to the next opportunity to come together and continue our collective pursuit of innovation and dialogue. Will we see you there? 🗣️ #TTCircular24 #Sustainability #Circularity

Greencode Ventures at Sweden Innovation Days Had the great pleasure to take part in a panel discussion at the #SwedenInnovationDays, a great initiative by the #SwedishEnergyAgency, #Vinnova, #SwedishIncubatorsandScienceParks, #BusinessSweden and #Formas aiming to connect innovation actors from around the world to foster partnerships in order to contribute to the Global Sustainability Goals. Three highlights from the discussion on sustainable investments: 💡 Sustainable investments - risks and returns: one major risk we perceive is the waning political commitment compared to just a few years ago. This may slow down the green transition initiatives and investments that the industry, the transportation and the green energy sectors so badly need. Regarding returns, we anticipate financial outcomes on par with or exceeding those of other sectors, given the urgency for disruptive green transition solutions in the decades. 💡 Startups play an important role to increase the innovation level in more mature industries towards sustainable products and services, they bring in the startup disruptive mindset, challenging status quo. Going forward we need more industry - start-up -academia partnerships, with clear metrics for success. 💡 To ensure that capital gets deployed to maximise green transition, the cost of not being sustainable needs to increase. As soon as we have a price on for example carbon, we see a greater appetite to invest in low emission solutions. Also, we need regulations that take a holistic perspective on sustainability, so that we do not drive investments that look good, but those that can make a real impact. For this we need transparency and comparable reporting. I was joined in the discussion by @ErikaSundell from Polarium and @JulesBesnainou from Cleantech for Europe. A big thank you for the having the pleasure to join the panel discussion, to the excellent moderator @BeataWickbom and to the organisers for the great event.

🌟We are excited to be part of the successful seed funding round for eco.mio; co-leading the round together with IBB Ventures & The Hansmann Group. This Berlin-based climate-tech startup is setting new standards in sustainable business travel for large enterprises. 🌍 They integrate advanced sustainability strategies into traditional booking systems, including gamification, incentives, and internal CO2 taxes and budgets. These elements promote environmentally conscious behavior and thus help companies significantly reduce both their CO2 emissions and travel costs. 🚀 With strong industrial partnerships like Cytric by Amadeus and Deutsche Bahn, eco.mio is excellently positioned to transform the business travel processes of large corporations. 🌳Among the impressive reference customers are renowned companies like Roland Berger and Kearney, which are already benefiting from eco.mio's innovative solutions.
