Working for youth and community empowerment across Europe.
Info
YEPP EUROPE recognises young people as actors of social change and strives to make their voices heard. We coordinate, develop and support the YEPP Community Network of YEPP Local Sites and project partners across 14 countries and over 100 communities in Europe. We work for youth and community empowerment in disadvantaged areas, promote participation of young people and local stakeholders in decision-making processes, and foster active citizenship. We develop capacity-building programmes for youth and train youth workers who support young people to develop their skills and strengthen their communities. We also work with municipalities on designing more youth-supportive policies and facilitate transnational learning and exchange of local actors in the YEPP Community Network.

Our latest Songs For Action training in Albenga brought together 24 incredible change makers from around the world. Building on the songwriting process we started in the Netherlands (where we created six powerful songs), we moved onto the ‘Produce’ and ‘Advocate’ stages of our LACPA method in Italy. Together, we recorded the songs and created videos—both professionally and using DIY methods. This was a truly collective and creative journey, exploring how music can be a powerful tool for community empowerment and amplify human rights advocacy. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible participants, our amazing trainers Rian Evers and Alan Ibrahim, and YEPP Albenga for hosting us. We’re excited to share the outcomes of this journey with you soon! 🇪🇺Songs For Action is a Erasmus+ KA1 project, funded by the European Union, in partnership with YEPP EUROPE, Het Wilde Westen and YEPP Italia. #ErasmusPlus #YouthEmpowerment #HumanRights #SongCreation

If you want to change the current situation of human rights but don't know where to start, we recommend you listen to our Songs For Change podcast with Het Wilde Westen In this episode, they sit with the president of Amnesty International Students Utrecht, Paola di Stefano and discuss the importance of hope when working towards social change. "Young people see a gap between what they are taught in school and what employers actually want. This mismatch can lead to fewer job opportunities, lower wages, and less motivation to make a positive impact in society." Do you agree with this quote from the OECD report?
Empowering Young People Through Better Policies Exciting news! The OECD has just published the Youth Policy Toolkit (https://lnkd.in/erzfgPqJ), a valuable resource to help policymakers create impactful youth policies. We at YEPP EUROPE and Songs for Rights believe in sustainable, inclusive approaches that truly address the needs and aspirations of young people. One quote from the report deeply resonates: "Young people see a gap between what they are taught in school and what employers actually want. This mismatch can lead to fewer job opportunities, lower wages, and less motivation to make a positive impact in society." At YEPP EUROPE and Songs for Rights, we witness this firsthand. Through our programs, we aim to bridge this gap by equipping young people with skills for life and work, fostering active citizenship, and advocating for policies that reflect their realities and dreams. 👉 What do you think about this quote? Do you agree that there’s a mismatch between what young people learn in school and what they need in (professional) life? #YouthEmpowerment #YEPPEUROPE #YouthPolicy #SkillsForLife #SDGs #SongsForRights
