A very fun fact about the Eiffel Tower is that it was originally meant to be "temporary structure." It was originally built as the entrance to the 1889 World's Fair and meant to last 20 years. (A testament to the idea of lifespan in temporary that can stretch from one day to one week to one century.) Some inspiring quotes about the Eiffel Tower "a truly tragic street lamp," a "belfry skeleton," "a half-built factory pipe, a carcass waiting to be fleshed out with freestone or brick, a funnel-shaped grill, a hole-riddled suppository." One architect insisted on eating lunch UNDERNEATH the Eiffel Tower so he didn't have to look at it. Perfect example of a temporary use-case test vs expensive capital investment that may have never seen the lights of Paris. Zwar richtet sich das Format für nachhaltige Bauweisen an Architekten und Planer. Weitergedacht ist das Thema auch für Motorist und Motoristen interessant. Denn wo z.B. Gebäudegrün entsteht, will dieses gepflegt werden. Das eröffnet Absatzchancen für den Gartentechnik- und Bewässerungsfachhandel - gerade im urbanen Umfeld, wo noch Marktpotenzial schlummert.

"Was ist eigentlich an Deinem Job interessant?" Diese Frage kommt regelmäßig und lässt sich leicht beantworten. Beim letzten Male war ich kurz zuvor zum Treffen mit meinen norwegischen Kolleg:innen in Oslo und konnte daher folgendes plakatives Motiv verwenden. Die Ergebnisse unserer Arbeit bzw. unserer Beiträge zum Gesamtergebnis eines Planungsteams lassen sich erleben und anfassen. Es ist also möglich frühmorgens an einen zauberhaften Platz zu spazieren und beim Kaffee auf einer Parkbank sitzend, das spektakuläre Setting von Osloer Oper, Munch Museum und Deichmann Bibliothek in dem Wissen zu genießen, welcher Input unseres Teams im Museumsbau (Fassade) sowie der Bibliothek (Tragwerk+Fassade) steckt. Ähnliches gilt auch um´s Eck beim Bauvorhaben Aker Brygge für dessen wunderschöne Fassade wir die Planung übernehmen durften. Besonders in Erinnerung wird mir jedoch das gegenüber Aker Brygge gelegene, oftmals in der Architekturwelt kritisch besprochene Nationalmuseum von Kleihues+Schuwerk bleiben. Dessen monumentaler Charakter bei Tageslicht, löst sich nach meinem Eindruck aus der Fußgängerperspektive bei Dunkelheit auf. Hierdurch betont es das ehemalige bestehende Bahnhofsgebäude, welches tagsüber fast untergeht. Es hat also, ähnlich wie das Munch Museum, mindestens zwei Gesichter, was ich persönlich sehr spannend finde. Bauingenieur:innen wirken also an "Stadtmöbeln" mit, welche weitreichenden Einfluss auf Menschen nehmen, die eben diese Stadt beleben/benutzen/bewohnen. Aus diesem Kontext resultiert für Bauingenieur:innen sowohl große Verantwortung, unseren Lebensraum nicht mit unnützen, untauglichen oder unbrauchbaren "Möbeln" (um im Bild zu bleiben) vollzustellen, als auch das Vergnügen diesen Lebensraum, als aktiv Planende hinter den Kulissen mitzugestalten.
