A treatment recently received by New York’s Marquis Theater, which hosted a summer revival of iconic 1970s musical The Wiz – as told by Live Design Online: https://bit.ly/416qjeg #SoundDesigner Jon Weston Design had previously encountered the acoustically-challenged space, but this time came #dbaudio prepared: - ArrayCalc to ensure even sound coverage - En-Space software to virtually remodel the acoustics, particularly the anechoic-like under-balcony area, and to provide helpful sonic reflections for performers on stage - #dbSoundscape to enhance the sonic storytelling by playing with audio perception “With d&b Soundscape, I was able to address spatialization with much more granularity, and the ceiling dimension of the En-Space model enabled me to ‘raise the roof’ for the audience” – Jon Weston Result: rich, lifelike sound, with performers fully in the zone and the audience totally engaged.
