What happens next in the dispute between Lenovo and Ericsson over a global FRAND licence following yesterday's ruling by the UK Court of Appeal on the interim licence? Well, in April the UK High Court will hear the FRAND trial. And in early May, the Unified Patent Court will hear the first of two infringement actions brought by Motorola Mobility (a Lenovo Company) against Ericsson. 👩⚖️ The Unified Patent Court adds to its judges ranks in Paris with a Dutch judge from the District Court The Hague. Like Germany, the Netherlands now has a judge in each of the central divisions. Read more on JUVE Patent.

Today, the Regional Court in Düsseldorf was supposed to hand down its ruling on the first of two lawsuits filed by Moderna against BioNTech and Pfizer in August 2022. The case concerns alleged infringement of COVID-19 vaccine technology. However, the court has pushed its ruling back a week. One cannot help but wonder whether the timing of the delay has anything to do with today marking the start of carnival season in the Rhineland. After all, in addition to Cologne, Düsseldorf is a known hub for the festivities, which bring the city to a standstill.
