Info

Cosmopolitan, open and urban – Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier is a one-of-a-kind place. Designed as an integrated district and central part of the HafenCity in Hamburg, it connects places to live and work with attractive cultural offers and leisure facilities as well as innovative retail and entertainment concepts. An additional highlight will be the state-of-the-art cruise terminal. With this mixed-use development, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield creates the lively essence of the contemporary Hamburg, and connects future-oriented models for urban living with the historically developed Hamburg identity. The goal: a vibrating meeting place for people from Hamburg and tourists. All buildings are certified with the BREEAM Excellent Standard, a rating system for the ecological and socio-cultural sustainability of buildings. This makes Westfield Hamburg Überseequartier a place that does not only think about the here and now, but also about the future. In addition, three office buildings receive the DGNB Gold Award. • NETWORKING: Our partner Espresso House Group invited us to a casual meeting to round off the year. With a few colleagues from the Leasing and General Management teams of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, we had the chance to exchange ideas with the Espresso House team. We shared an overview of the status of the construction site, explained the next steps until the opening, but the real highlight was an exclusive and professional barista course.   Espresso House, as leasing partner already on board for a long time, will be opening its branch at Überseeplatz, the quarter's central square. At Überseeplatz, in the immediate vicinity of the metro station, our guests will also find further lively, community-oriented food & beverage concepts, both national and international, for the entire course of the day.   We look forward to Espresso House opening their doors in our urban quarter and supplying HafenCity with excellent coffee. • COMMUNITY: This week our 17th #NeighbourhoodEvent took place in our showroom in HafenCity. More than 30 neighbours of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier met with Theda Juliane Mustroph, General Manager of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, and Dirk Hünerbein, Director of Development Austria & Germany at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, for a lively exchange in a relaxed atmosphere.   The focus was on an update on the opening plans, the current status of project development and topics such as construction activities and mobility aspects.   There was a lively, constructive discussion, which also included critical aspects, but the participants were clearly looking ahead and showed their high expectations regarding the quartier. Neighbour Barbara Wien, for example, commented: „We are really looking forward to finally strolling through the fantastic promenades, walking under the glass roof and having access to the Elbe river.” Neighbour Jan Homburg is also positive about the one-of-a-kind district: „I see Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier first and foremost as a great opportunity for our city. The many visitors will get to know Hamburg from a more modern perspective.”   Since the first neighbourhood event in 2019, a total of nearly 600 residents have received background information on the project and shared their thoughts and concerns with us.
