  • Can profitability, resilience, and sustainability really coexist? We believe they can—and B Corps are proving it! In collaboration with B Lab Europe, we’ve explored how B Corps are performing financially and staying resilient in challenging times. The study spans seven European countries: Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland. Here’s what we discovered: 📈 B Corps match or even exceed financial performance 👩💼 Their workforce grows faster than that of ordinary businesses 🛡️ They show incredible resilience during crises This study confirms what many of us already know: being a B Corp isn’t just about doing good—it’s about building a solid, forward-thinking business. It takes dedication, but the rewards? Financial stability, deeper trust from stakeholders, and the chance to make a lasting impact. Want to see the details? 👉 You can dive into the highlights and download the full report here: https://lnkd.in/d8qCGGJE #BCorp #Resilience #PurposeDriven #Sustainability #BCorpCertification

  • Last week, we wrapped up 2024 with our End of Year Gathering in Copenhagen, gathering B Corps from across the Nordic region into one room to reflect on the year that passed and share ambitions for 2025. The theme of the afternoon was all about "The Businesses of the Future" A highlight was to have Elise Sydendal, Climate Activist from Den Grønne Ungdomsbevægelse (The Green Youth Movement), who delivered a thought-provoking keynote. She shared 7 principles for creating truly impact-driven and sustainable businesses that resonated deeply with all: 1️⃣ Establish safeguards against profit-first thinking 2️⃣ Prioritize a good work life 3️⃣ Democratize decision-making 4️⃣ Produce for citizens, not consumers 5️⃣ Operate in a socially and ecologically regenerative way 6️⃣ Take responsibility for your societal impact 7️⃣ Recognize boundaries and stop over-scaling We followed up by closing our eyes, and thinking about the future that is awaiting us, sharing our wishes for the upcoming year with our allies and leaving them as a wish on an ornament on the tree 🌲 🧧 2024 has been an incredible year of growth, but mostly about forming connection, and deepen collaboration, and we can’t wait to see what 2025 brings! Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey until now! Have you thought about your wish for next year? What is truly important to you? How does your business of the future look like? We invite you to take a minute to close your eyes and envision your business in the next year ahead. What is your wish for 2025? No matter small or big, feel free to share it in the comments below ⭐

  • At B Lab Nordics, we challenge the systems we are operating in and that promote overconsumption and unsustainable practices. Black Friday is a prime example of how deeply we’re all entrenched in a system that pressures both businesses and consumers to follow patterns without pause - acting on auto-pilot instead of intention. But what if we all stopped for a second and took a minute to reflect? 🛑 As businesses, do we offer discounts or promotions because we believe in them—or because we’re afraid of being left behind? 🛑 As consumers, do we buy because we truly need something—or because we feel compelled to take advantage of a “deal”? This endless cycle keeps us stuck in habits that serve neither people nor the planet nor purpose. Breaking this pattern means daring to question the status quo and rethink the way we act. Some businesses in our Nordic B Corp Community are stepping off the auto-pilot of Black Friday, while still raising awareness around the issue of this day: 🌍 66°North observes Glacier Friday, turning the spotlight away from discounts and onto the climate crisis. Instead of offering deals, they donate 25% of online sales to organizations protecting Icelandic glaciers. They’re also promoting their repair services, encouraging customers to extend the life of their garments rather than replace them. 👔 Son of a Tailor treats Black Friday as “just another Friday,” staying true to their made-to-order philosophy. By maintaining their everyday pricing, they rejact the volatility and waste associated with one-day sales. Their approach highlights the need for mindful consumption year-round, not just on Black Friday. These are just two examples of the many initiatives led by businesses. Many others are already stepping away from the usual Black Friday deals, and rather promote Better Fridays - yet, even these initiatives make us ask: are we still playing into a system that encourages buying—just with a different label? One B Corp leader put it this way: "Overconsumption triggers an instinct to buy things we don’t need. True sustainability means respecting quality and pricing all year round." This Friday—and every day—it’s worth asking bigger questions: Are we acting out of purpose, or simply out of habit? Are we choosing what’s right, or just what feels expected? How can we rethink consumption altogether, as businesses and as consumers? At B Lab Nordics, we don’t have all the answers. What we do know is that real change doesn’t only come from better marketing or slightly “less bad” solutions. It comes from stepping back, breaking free from patterns, and committing to decisions that serve a higher purpose—for people, for the planet, and for the future. We invite you to pause with us. Let’s make this Friday about rethinking how we consume, how we do business, and how we can challenge the system. Together, we can pave the way for an economy that values intention over habit and action over auto-pilot.

  • Curious About Becoming a B Corp? Here's What We Learned from Our Latest Session 🌍 Have you heard about our recurring "Become a B Corp" sessions? - a space where we introduce curious minds to the B Corp movement, explore the philosophy of using business as a force for good, and walk through the steps to certification. These sessions highlight how businesses can use the free B Impact Assessment to measure and manage their impact, whether aiming for certification or simply seeking continuous improvement. A key feature of every session is hearing firsthand insights from a certified B Corp. This time, Alexandre Aubry from Dbjourney, a Norwegian B Corp known for its innovative travel gear, shared their learnings from their certification journey. Some of those tips he had to those who are just getting on their way to B Cor Certification? ⛰️ Set an ambitious ESG strategy: Aim high, gain buy-in from all levels of the company, and align on goals. 🎒 Action is worth a thousand words: Have a "get-it-done" mindset - decide fast, implement fast, fail fast. 📢 Communicate and motivate: Engage employees, secure budgets, and make ESG initiatives appealing. 🏃♀️ Keep moving forward: Continuous improvement is key. Stay motivated by anchoring your work in a meaningful purpose. Overall we can say that becoming a B Corp is clearly not just about receiving a certification; it’s about transforming your business to align with purpose and impact. 💡 Ready to explore what it takes? Join us for the next "Become a B Corp" session on March 12th and take your first step toward using business as a force for good. 🔗 Register here: bcorp.dk/events #BCorp #BusinessAsAForceForGood #BCorpMovement #BCorpsintheNordics

We are thrilled to share that we are now B Corp Certified, joining a movement that puts the wellbeing of people and respect for the planet at the forefront. The B Corp standards cover the treatment of our employees, relationships to the community we work and create in, our partners and customers, as well as the way our supply chain affects the natural environment. An assessment and consequent audit of these factors lead to us officially becoming certified with a score of 88.2 points. Pursuing this milestone over the past four years has served as strong motivation for our team, spreading an eagerness to challenge the way we work. In the process, we created a more empowered culture where our environmental and social impact gained a permanent spot in every conversation. This commitment is deeply woven into our ongoing work towards our Impact Goals as we pursue re-certification every three years.
