Tour de Solar Park 😀 Back in autumn, Mats Palmgren, Managing Director at BeGreen - Sverige, visited BeGreen in Denmark. During his visit, he took the opportunity to meet Magnus Kristensen and Zakarias Christensen, our Site Electricians, who gave their Swedish colleague a tour around a solar park ☀️ “It’s always a great feeling to visit a completed solar park generating renewable electricity for the community. It feels even better to be part of BeGreen, a company that remains active in its solar parks throughout their lifecycle. We have so many colleagues with diverse expertise, all working together to ensure our operations run in the best possible way,” says Mats. Our Site Electricians are part of our O&M team, who ensure the solar parks operate as safely, efficiently, and smoothly as possible. Our Site Operations team is part of BeGreen’s Technical Department, which also includes teams responsible for Grid Integration, Engineering, O&M, Construction, HSE, and Procurement. Our new Project Manager, Ellen Thersthol from BeGreen - Sverige, had the opportunity to meet some of her colleagues in Denmark last week. "It has been great meeting my new colleagues in the Project Management team, as well as everyone else at BeGreen whom I will collaborate with on the projects. It was especially nice to meet and talk with them in person. On a more personal note, it has been really lovely visiting Copenhagen while it was covered in snow," says Ellen. Ellen studied Environmental and Political Science at University of Gothenburg and has prior experience in the solar and wind energy industries. We asked her why she chose to work at BeGreen. "I want to work for a company that is striving to improve the world in one way or another, and doing so in a sustainable way. Since the team in Sweden is relatively new, I will have the chance to contribute to building up the organization, which I am also looking forward to,” says Ellen. Innovating Through Collaboration 👍 Together with Solar For You and Electrum Concreo, BeGreen has developed a new lifting and installation solution for placing solar panels. This tool is designed to carry the load of solar panels, improving health and safety for workers during the construction of our solar parks. The innovative solution is already being used at Solar Park Ingeslev Å. Another fantastic BeGreen Team Day is in the books! ☀️ Yesterday, we brought our team together for our final BeGreen Team Day of the year – an inspiring day centered around collaboration and connection. Anders Dolmer kicked off the day with a warm welcome and an introduction to the day. After a refreshing 'Walk & Talk' in the beautiful surroundings of the King's Garden (Kongens Have), we enjoyed a great lunch, setting the stage for an afternoon packed with BeGreen Academy. Colleagues from Tech, Business Development, and Communications each took to the stage to share interesting and exciting insights. A quick energizer recharged us, getting everyone ready for a massive game of “Rock, Paper, Scissors” with a twist—each colleague battled until only one winner remained. The day wouldn’t have been complete without a bit of recognition, so we were thrilled to present the Intranet Award to one of our outstanding team members for their contributions in keeping us connected and informed on a daily basis. At BeGreen, we develop and build large-scale solar parks and help foster strong partnerships for many future endeavors. Last week, we held our yearly and much-anticipated BeGreen Partner Day. We believe that knowledge sharing and networking are key to great collaboration. “BeGreen Partners Day is the opportunity to acknowledge and thank our partners that are key in the delivery of our solar parks, but also to connect them together, and create a culture of horizontal cooperation among us. It was great to see our key partners coming together to hear about our journey and share their insights,” says Cyrille de Baracé, CTO at BeGreen. This year's event took place at our office at Bregentved in Haslev. Anders Dolmer, CEO at BeGreen, and Cyrille de Baracé, CTO at BeGreen, started the day with an introduction to BeGreen. Afterwards, each participant had a chance to present themselves, which kickstarted a networking and knowledge-sharing session. “BeGreen Partners’ Day is a great initiative. It serves various purposes including introduction to BeGreen strategy updates, alignment of common development plans, building synergies between all parties and mutual learning. In unique, friendly atmosphere in beautiful Haslev we had chance to meet with our business partners and colleagues. We are thrilled to see velocity of expansion of BeGreen in terms of geographies and products and are honored as Electrum, Climate Tech company to be part of this journey. I am sure such initiative will pay off in higher efficiency and commitment within our partnerships with BeGreen. We share common values and attitudes and meetings like Partners’ Days are opportunities to celebrate another year of cooperation,” says Tomasz Taff, MBA. The day continued with a guided tour of the solar park in Freerslev. Our colleagues from tech provided a thorough tour and explained the ins and outs of how a solar park operates. This year, we also wanted to take the BeGreen Partner Day to new heights—literally! To finish off the day, the group traveled to The Forest Tower for a unique experience. The Forest Tower is an hourglass-shaped platform that stands 45 meters high, with the top 135 meters above sea level. It was a perfect way to conclude a day of learning. We look forward to many future endeavors with great collaboration. Our good colleagues from Health and Safety strive to ensure safety for our employees, stakeholders and the local community. From the pre-planning stages, throughout construction and when we operate and maintain the finalized solar park. We work with health and safety from the early stages of building a solar park. Camilla Knigge Kæstel-Hansen, HSE Coordinator at BeGreen, is together with HSE manager, Ali Abawi, in charge of developing preventive strategies for a safe and healthy work environment. Their work includes developing and implementing safety procedures which involves conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing training on HSE principles. “For me, the work of ensuring a safe and healthy working environment begins in the planning phase of a new project. This is where we can map out and assess the various working conditions and choose the right methods for managing the risks. The earlier we can manage the risks, the better. Every day, we work diligently to promote a strong HSE culture, where safety, health, and well-being are the foundation of everything we do. It’s about creating an environment where everyone feels responsible for one another, and where we continuously strive to improve the standards that protect our colleagues and workplace.” says Camilla Knigge Kæstel-Hansen, HSE Coordinator at BeGreen. From our office in Copenhagen, Camilla collaborates with her colleagues from HSE, who have their daily tasks out on the construction sites. This is where Kenneth Dielemans makes an impact on safety and adapts in the dynamic environment. “On-site we have the ability to identify new and emerging hazards, that we have not considered in the pre-planning phase. So, it’s extremely important that we are present on-site, and that we have a pragmatic approach to safety. We ensure to incorporate the safety mitigations needed to carry out jobs in a safe and efficient manner. Also, HSE is a key element where we daily support each other in elevating the safety maturity levels of our contractors. We do this by ensuring good communication and collaboration across all teams. It is always a great day when you can see and feel positive changes in people’s perceptions toward HSE. These are moments of growth that will raise awareness, and make a significant impact on overall safety performance,” says Kenneth Dielemans, HSE Site Manager at BeGreen. Kenneth is based at our site for Solar Park Ingerslev Å. He has got direct daily contact and influence on the safety performance of all the teams working. He has the HSE assurance overview and proactively challenges our contractors where he identifies areas for HSE improvements. The sun is great at making renewable solar energy - but also rainbows 🌈 Our Electrician, Magnus Kristensen, got a real photo opportunity this morning ☀ A beautiful rainbow appeared at one of our sites, covering the arrays of solar panels 😀 Like solar energy, a rainbow needs sunlight to work, or appear, as it is actually an optical phenomenon. The rainbow appears when sunlight and atmospheric conditions are just right—and the viewer’s position is just right to see it. Luckily for us, Magnus was. The rainbow has since disappeared.
