🤝🏥 How can we collaborate to supercharge innovation in the Danish healthcare system for better patient outcomes? This was the central question at yesterday’s workshop, where we gathered key stakeholders from Denmark’s health innovation and life science ecosystem. Our goal was clear: to explore how we can collectively enhance our efforts to drive innovation within the Danish healthcare system. 🚀 Rune Holdt set the stage for the workshop, emphasising the importance of closer collaboration and mutual engagement within the ecosystem to help innovation projects reach patients with their solutions. Jesper Juel-Helwig followed, highlighting BETA. HEALTH as a key initiative for innovation at Rigshospitalet. He also stressed that it is one of several crucial cogs that must work together to futureproof the Danish healthcare system. ⚙️ The progress over the first three years with BETA. HEALTH demonstrates a significant acceleration in the projects we support, enabling them to reach the market and benefit patients more quickly. Last year’s mid-term evaluation highlighted that 72% of the projects within BETA. HEALTH have established collaborations with industry or other key stakeholders in the ecosystem. Last year, the Danish government introduced its new life-science strategy towards 2030, positioning innovation as the fourth pillar of the Danish healthcare system. For clinical innovation projects to succeed and become real, implemented solutions, they need both financial support and expert assistance over a long period. Therefore, achieving this vision requires us to work more closely together in the ecosystem! What we discussed: 🚀 How we can collectively strengthen support for innovators to shorten their time to market and patients. 🏥 How we can best collaborate to ensure smooth and efficient implementation of high-quality solutions that address national challenges. 🌟 How we can maximise innovation capacity and culture within the clinical environment. 🌱 How BETA. HEALTH can be more beneficial for patients, the ecosystem and the healthcare system. Looking ahead, we are committed to strengthening these collaborations and turning our discussions into actions. Today’s workshop was an important first step in that direction. 🤝 🙏 A huge ‘thank you’ to all the participants for your invaluable contributions and dedication. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of our collective efforts. #BETAHEALTH #LifeScience #HealthcareInnovation #Innovation #ClinicalInnovation

🏥🚀 Hospital leaders from across Denmark gather to target innovation leadership! Earlier this week, 23 hospital leaders from all over Denmark gathered at Kunstmuseum Brandts in Odense for a BETA. HEALTH workshop focusing on innovation leadership. This was one of their first opportunities to explore and discuss with their peers how to succeed in making innovation the fourth pillar of the Danish healthcare system. The participants left with actionable ideas to help with: 🗺️ Long-term strategies for innovation in healthcare 🧩 Organisational design for the future of healthcare 🌱 Innovation culture and leadership that creates lasting, systemic change One of the participants, Erik Jylling, Executive Medical Officer Region Hovedstaden, emphasised the importance of innovation leadership, stating: ‘Our most important task as top leaders in the Regions is to generate a structure and organisation that enables innovation to address needs seen in the clinic.’ This workshop is part of a broader BETA. HEALTH initiative to strengthen innovation capacity within Danish hospitals. 🏥🚀 It began last autumn with the launch of a pilot innovation leadership course for hospital department heads, and this spring, we’re kicking off a new three-session innovation leadership course beginning on March 19th in Aarhus. A big ‘thank you’ to Christian Bason, Ph.D., Ditte Thøgersen, and Christel Shermer Heegaard for facilitating the day – and to our participants for their open minds and enthusiastic discussions. 🙏👏 #InnovationLeadership #HealthcareInnovation #ClinicalInnovation #LifeScience #BETAHEALTH
