Dengang forbrugsregnskabet var barn... En stille revolution? Vi tænker sjældent på det, men vores verden blev forandret for altid, da radiatorerne slog igennem i 1920’erne og 30’erne. De ændrede ikke bare måden, vi opvarmede vores boliger på, men også den måde, vi indrettede vores hjem på, vores tøjvaner og vores livsstil. Og så havde radiatorne, forbrugsregnskabet med under armen. Vi har talt med historikeren Mogens Rüdiger om, hvad der skete dengang centralvarmen og forbrugsregnskabet trådte ind i vores. “It is such a cool job. I get to drive all over the city and meet people from all walks of life. I go behind so many doors and get to see just how different people really are,” Emma Martinez Jensen says with a bright smile. She is one of Brunata’s youngest service technicians. After completing her military service in the Royal Danish Navy, she applied to join the company – and she has not regretted it for a moment. “I learn loads of practical skills that you can use anywhere. Even though I went to high school, I really like working with my hands. So it is great to learn so many new things.” “I pretty much manage my day myself. I drive around, replace meters, and handle various tasks for our customers. But I never feel like I am on my own.” “If I get stuck or think, ‘What on earth do I do here?’ I just give one of my colleagues a call. There is always an experienced technician ready to help. The team here is just brilliant – so nice and helpful.” “What I love most is the freedom you are given with responsibility. And the fact that no two days are ever the same,” Emma says, before heading off to another property, another door, and another job.

Smart heat management delivers significant savings on heating bills Many of us believe we save on heating by turning off the radiator in one or more rooms. A new study from DTU - Technical University of Denmark now shows it adds to the heating bill when some residents turn off the radiators in some rooms. When the heating is turned off in one room, radiators in the adjoining rooms have to work even harder. This creates uneven heat distribution throughout the building, adding to the bill from the district heating company. The study shows how smart heat management can lower both the supply and return temperatures. Without compromising comfort. This will help both the heating bills and the environment.
