#KPAC24 | Building Trust, Pacifying Power, Connecting Realities We are thrilled to announce our participation in #KPAC24, where we, alongside Search for Common Ground, Conducive Space for Peace, #Propel, Interpeace, CIVISME Soscivisme sos civisme-Togo, GPPAC West Africa, Démocratie 101 Mali, HiiL | User-friendly Justice, Initiative Sougourounoma pour l'Education, la Paix et la Santé (ISEPS), Knowledge Platform Security & Rule of Law hosted a pavilion at the “Marketplace of Ideas.” The session allowed us to showcase how our community-driven youth initiatives are advancing security and the rule of law in Nigerian communities. We also highlighted how locally-led collaborative security approaches are effectively countering and preventing violent extremism. It was a valuable opportunity to learn, amplify our work, and connect with individuals, organizations, agencies and institutions within the security and rule of law sector. In addition to the Marketplace of Ideas, we witnessed the launch of the African Alliance for People-Centered Justice by the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies, and other thematic discussions. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Knowledge Platform Security & Rule of Law, the Gorée Institute, and REPAOC Réseau for making this possible. As #KPAC24 comes to a close, I am really grateful for being part of this powerful and strategic network, thanks to the Knowledge Platform Security & Rule of Law! Weaving through the 3 themes of this year’s edition (building trust, pacifying power, connecting realities), we re-imagined the future of peace and security! I was lucky to attend visionary sessions introducing radical thinking about peace, through feminist approaches and digital peace building efforts. Special shout out to the #RESPACEpeace project developed by Conducive Space for Peace, exploring what global collaboration for peace might look like in 10 years time !!! Unsurprisingly the power of youth activists in peace building was front and center in all the discussions ! It was so good to reconnect with young peacebuilders Rafiu Adeniran Lawal, Emmanuel SINGA, and to meet many more!

👊 Today was the last day of #KPAC24! The third day is intended to bring together all of the conversations, insights, and learnings from the first two days into concrete conclusions with practical objectives for the future. How can we turn our goals into reality? How can we take our experiences at KPAC and turn them into targeted actions to enact #change? 💡 This morning started off with a recap of Day 2 followed by a panel discussion with key takeaways from #policy actors. We then heard from Anne Sophie Kesselaar (Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dakar), Marine Lalanne (Regional Programme Specialist at UNDP WACA), Djiby Sow (Institute for Security Studies), and Marja Esveld (Deputy Head, division #SRoL in the Dutch Department for Stability and Humanitarian Aid).

Yesterday, we, together with three RESPACE team members—Sever Džigurski, Marwa Eissa, and Joanna Makhlouf (who joined us virtually from Lebanon) had the honour of presenting the RESPACE Scenarios for global collaboration for sustainable peace at a hybrid workshop for Geneva Peace Week. The event was co-organised by Reos Partners and NEAR (Network for Empowered Aid Response)🌍 The engaged audience ventured through the evocative stories of Towers, Walls, Maze, and Bridges. As each scenario was brought to life, we explored the four distinct, intertwined and plausible futures for 2035—filled with unsettling elements and glimmers of hope. 🌱 We took the pulse of the room, feeling the audience’s reflections as these stories unfolded. 💡 Through thought-provoking discussions, we also reflected on the positive opportunities within the scenarios and how, through collective action, our efforts today can help support these opportunities in the future. 🤝 We look forward to sharing the publication of the Scenarios shortly and the many exciting RESPACE events on the horizon—both virtual and in-person. 📅 In the meantime, we invite you to dive deeper into the initiative by visiting respacepeace.org 🌐 and encourage you to engage with RESPACE. 💬 #RESPACE #GenevaPeaceWeek #FuturesThinking #RESPACEPeace #ReimaginingPeace #PeaceInfrastuctures #GlobalCollaborationForPeace #EquitableFutures #GPW
