  • Let's get to know each other! Today we meet Torben Tornegård Olesen – Sales Director of ACO FUNKI A/S. 𝗤 How did you and your company first get involved with DFA? 𝗔 We joined DFA around 2010 through a connection with the former chairman, who invited us to a meeting. The welcoming atmosphere helped us expand our network in the industry. 𝗤 What part of the DFA activities have you participated in, and how has it impacted your career? 𝗔 I’ve particularly enjoyed their annual conference, which brings together professionals for meaningful discussions. I've also traveled internationally with them, gaining valuable insights that supported my career growth. 𝗤 Can you share a pivotal moment influenced by your participation in a DFA activity? 𝗔 While I haven’t attended training programs personally, attending conferences expanded my connections significantly. A notable experience was when DFA representatives visited our office in Russia; those meetings led to new opportunities thanks to their network. 𝗤 What was your main challenge in 2023 within your DFA activity? 𝗔 2023 was challenging due to market impacts from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine; however, we managed to navigate these difficulties successfully by year-end. 𝗤 How do you envision the future of agriculture and what role do you see DFA playing? 𝗔 Agriculture's future focuses on minimizing environmental impact and reducing CO₂ emissions. I believe that DFA will play an essential role as one of the most innovative players in this mission. 𝗤 Outside work, what's a passion or hobby that not many people know about? 𝗔 Running is important for me—I complete a half marathon yearly—and I love gardening at our summer house surrounded by family. I'm also passionate about football; AGF is my local team while FC Barcelona holds my interest too! 𝗤 If you could recommend a holiday destination to fellow members? 𝗔 Skagen in northern Denmark is one of my favorite places—always relaxing! Northern Italy is another wonderful destination I'd highly recommend for travel. 𝗤 What advice would you give young professionals entering the field? 𝗔 Build strong networks like DFA or Danish Pig Academy (where I'm chairman). These spaces foster connections among dedicated professionals. Don’t hesitate when faced with challenges—ask questions and stay open-minded. Being approachable enhances learning experiences! Thank you, Torben, for sharing your insights and experiences with us! Stay tuned for more stories from our incredible DFA community. #dfa #danishfarmersabroad
